great review! Vocal synthesis is one of those techniques with lots of potential, but may require a bit of effort to pull out the good stuff :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, there's a lot of work involved for sure but some time to be saved as well. Recording singers can be tricky, often involving studio time. Assuming you can even find a singer that's interested in your project in the first place.
DeleteSynthesizer V uses a hybrid tuning system which is partly human driven and partly AI (neural network). While Vocaloid supposedly represents the more human-driven style, the fully AI side is represented by n3utrino. I haven't had much chance to play with any of these, but I know that for neutrino you'll also need musescore or some other program that can generate MusicXML. - Sariel V

ReplyDeleteUtau is similar to Vocaloid, except it is shareware and allows users to make their own voice banks
