Making a Prophet Type Synth Pad Sound with Analog in Ableton Live (Sound Design Tutorial)

video upload by Jannis Le Wolff

"In this Ableton Live Sound Design tutorial I'm going to show you you can create a large, open and rich synth pad sound that is inspired by the sound of the legendary Prophet 5 synthesizer by using the synth "Analog".

Of course it is not possible to copy the sound of such a great piece of hardware, but I think it's a great exercise to try getting as close as possible with your own gear, since it really makes you learn the synth and its functionality. From there, you can easily make your own unique sound out of it.

You can also apply the changes to other synthesizers, but the sound can always differ due to the difference in filter and oscillator sound.
