"This is an OG original 2600 (not a reproduction) with a bunch of CMS upgrades to boot. I cant even describe how awesome it sounds, but it’s magic. If I get a sec I will try to upload a video.

It has never left my non-smoking studio and I’ve kept it in good working order and added some essential upgrades from the undisputed ARP experts at CMS, who count among their clients Pete Townsend, Hans Zimmer and even the late Alan R Perlman (A.R.P.) himself!

All of the submodules are original.

This includes the following work/upgrades:

1.) Fully rebuilt power supply

2.) The essential audio path upgrade, which replaces the lousy but stable lm301s with modern and reliable equivalents of the wonderful-sounding but unreliable teledynes that were used the legendary early Marvin/meanie models.

3.) Quarter-inch line-level outputs and preamp input (no more converter cables)

4.) Hard syncing of osc 2 and/or 3 (a sadly missing feature of the original AND the reissue) A must to best use the 2600’s myriad modulation options

5.) Filter cv scaling is continually adjustable via a knob instead of being on/off only via a dummy plug

6.) 2 alternate time ranges for both envelopes It’s like having 6 different envelope characters, from very short and punchy, and very long and haunting

7.) The short-tank reverb was replaced with a full-sized 17-inch with the specs of the earliest 2600s

8.) Fixing a number of old caps and minor issues that were present went I got it

On Another separate occasion:

1.) All of the 100k sliders (I.e the noisy ones) were replaced with new reproductions by a local tech. They work great, and I still have all of the originals to tell you the truth, I’m not totally sure they all really needed to be replaced, but now that they are out, they can perhaps be more completely reconditioned.

Now the not- so-good stuff

1.) While it sounds wonderful and everything works, there is no headshell for the case (one is for sale on reverb if you really want to pay that much for particle board.)

2.) there is no keyboard, though it works fine if you find one elsewhere (i.e. it’s been tested with one). Personally I never missed it as they can’t really control multiple synths and are pretty underspeced vs most mid-high end cv converters

3.) while the tolex is more or less intact, aside from a small tear and some scratches, it’s pretty worn. It definitely looks a bit worn down with plenty of spots. Then again, it’s been though a lot, and I guess it’s earned it :)"
