"From the mid-1980s, a quick demo of the Gretsch Blackhawk ED-700 electronic drum module, a five channel unit very similar to the Synsonics 5300 and other modules made by Digiplay.
The modules feature in the newly released book written by Alex Graham called Electronic Drumfax, an all colour 180 page book on vintage electronic drum modules and pads that were released from the early 1970s to the end of 1989. From the Impakt Tom, Syndrums and Synare through to the emergence of Simmons SDS drums, other British kits and pads, and the stiff competition from Japan (Tama, Roland, Yamaha, Casio) and Europe (Dynacord, dDrum).
The book is also available in a black and white edition called Drumfax 4.
