"In the 1990s, OBERHEIM hooked up with Viscount (Italy), the result being the OB-12. On release, basically, it bombed. was SO different from the original OB was over-priced...was not "instant" to use...manual could have been was that was that..........

Time passed, and now the synth is being accepted for what it is.....a rather amazing virtual digital/analogue instrument, with many features way ahead of its time.

Here are basic specs:- 256 memory slots - all programmable ~ each "patch" can comprise of up to four parts (split/zoned/stacked etc) each a single timbre ~ 12-voice polyphonic ~ 49 keys with velocity and aftertouch ~ multi FX ~ arpeggios ~ ring-mod ~ noise ~ mod + pitch wheels~polyglide~ribbon controller~phrase recorder~motion recorder~morphing function~midi~stereo ~ wonderful display that changes in real-time as editing is active. .Lots of obvious knobs to twiddle, so instant tweaking is encouraged...All presented in a stunning blue-paneled format, in a steel box with sturdy end cheeks. FULL 244-page (copy) owner's manual is supplied; which is actually quite will need this to grasp what this synth is capable off...check out YouTube and other videos.....there are some fat sounds achievable......"
