PLUGIN ./. HARDWARE --- WALDORF MICROWAVE 1, Rev. A vs. MICROWAVE 1 Plugin - DRY AMBIENT SESSION
video upload by LESINDES
"All tracks were recorded as audio signals in Logic Pro over the same inputs and the exactly the same cables. They were normalized and equally levelled and off line bounced without any FX which results in a rather unusual sound. How else could you compare both sources?
You hear the hardware when the synth is shown and the plugin when the plugin is in appearing in this video.
Note that I used here only factory single sound patterns delivered with the Microwave plugin. They were all tranferred into the hardware unit right before recording them track per track.
The mixes were randomly cut in Final Cut Pro. They had to be crossfaded in order to avoid clicking.
To my ears the 2 takes sound very similar. Except for LFO speeds and attacks. The hardware seems to be slower in both cases. Even though the original MW1 manual warns users of setting the attack to 0 as it could result in clicking ;-)."
