Native Instruments Maschine 3.1 Update Released

Details from the press release:

Berlin, March 18, 2025 – Native Instruments today announced the release of Maschine 3.1, a free update to the latest software version of the iconic groove-box platform for beat-making and sampling. Maschine 3.1 delivers the highly anticipated and community requested user chords feature, alongside fullscreen mode in the standalone app.

Custom User Chords

Maschine 3.1 introduces user chords, enabling users to create, save, and share their own banks of chord progressions. Custom chords make it easy to explore new harmonic structures and design progressions tailored to different genres.

About Maschine 3

Maschine 3 software works best with Maschine hardware, but also shines as standalone music production software, making it an accessible and affordable entry point for making music.

The recent major upgrade to Maschine 3.0 introduced a host of powerful new features:

Stem Separation: Split any audio file into drums, bass, vocals, and other instruments. Powered by iZotope’s legendary RX technology for the highest quality.

Maschine Central: A completely redefined library, with all the sounds to craft heat in any genre. Machine Central includes over 100 kits, 144 Kontakt instruments, and 200 synth presets.

Enhanced MIDI Editing: A suite of MIDI editing tools to split, join, erase and mute MIDI notes, keyboard shortcuts, audible MIDI note previews, and more.

Custom Tempo Upgrades: Set custom tempos per-scene for deep control over track flow and live performance.

Maschine Roadmap Overview

Native Instruments has a series of anticipated updates planned for Maschine this year to improve stability and add colors to the sonic palette. Here’s a slice of what’s coming:

Maschine 2 on Maschine+ (Q1): An update with new effects, and stability bug fixes for Maschine 2 on Maschine+, it will also allow for changing the sampling rate and buffer size for extended compatibility.

Maschine 3 on Maschine+ (Q2): Support for Maschine 3 on the standalone Maschine+ platform is in development. The update promises Kontakt 8 support and alongside the highly requested bounce-to-audio feature, unlocking access to more CPU-intensive instruments.

Maschine+ Content Releases (2025): The Maschine+ library will be expanding this year, with new Kontakt instruments, including Play Series instruments.

Several more Maschine 3 feature releases (2025): Expect free feature updates for Maschine 3 throughout the year, beyond what’s been announced already.
