"Vintage Oberheim OB-8 61-Key 8-Voice Synthesizer from the early 1980s w/ midi + B5 Software. It was just fully Serviced with no expense spared and comes with the original manual, B5 software literature, and a product brochure of the time. It is clean all around and is completely fully functional with no issues including midi capability.
Oberheim OB-8 Restoration Summary:
-Repaired and upgraded +5V power rail.
-Cleaned corrosion and replaced faulty chips on main board.
-Resolved panel freeze/unresponsive behavior.
-Repaired patch tape load circuit; successfully loaded factory patches.
-Diagnosed and replaced faulty OTA and VCO chips on voice boards.
-Calibrated all voices after restoring full functionality.
-Rebuilt and repaired seized/broken potentiometers (including one with crumbled shaft).
-Repaired broken preset switch.
-Cleaned and lubricated all pots and switches.
-Restored keybed.
-Cleaned and lubricated bender board; removed significant rust.
-Removed rust from jack nuts and touched up panel finish.
-Cleaned and lubricated knob inserts; removed and treated rusted knob retainers.
-Repaired two dropped voices during burn-in: one VCF chip, one ADSR chip.
-Replaced PSU capacitors and battery (original battery dated 1997).
-Cleaned and de-rusted all original screws and nuts.
