All the new voice boards and control system were custom designed and professionally made for this unique build. It also has an internal replaceable (non rechargeable) memory battery mod to eliminate the dreaded Ni-Cad battery and a set of new custom made wood side panels.
Sounds are selected using a pair of toggle switches per channel that operate in a binary fashion, so both up is original DMX, first down second up is Linn LM-1, first up second down is Linndrum and both down is a mixed custom kit. All sounds can be mixed and matched for a large variety of different kits and the wide range tuning gives a lot of variation on top.
Unit comes with a bound copy of the user manual and a cassette with the original factory patterns and demos!
Things to note - This machine has had the paint touched up in places as it had a few scratches and marks here and there. It looks a lot better now but you can still see the odd rough spot, so it's not perfect, but is still very good in keeping with its age. Also at some time in the past a previous owner drilled ventilation holes in the top panel just above the power supply on the right. This was unfortunate so I designed the new control panel to completely cover this up, but I'm mentioning it here for full disclosure as you wouldn't know otherwise. All the switches and faders work correctly, but one switch (the number '1') has been repaired and feels a bit different to the rest - I could have replaced it with a new plain switch but decided it was better to keep the '1'). The only other issue I have found is that the machine sometimes loses a pattern when switched on - it gives a memory error then the option to delete bad pattern, then it works fine again. I don't know why it does this, it only happens occasionally at switch on but not when in use. I got into the habit of saving the memory to wave file (no cassette required, just use any recording device or computer) in case this happens.
Unit will be shipped very well packed, fully insured (delivery charge includes this) and with signature required on delivery. Note this is a 240v unit, but it is possible to modify it internally for 100/120v, this is a simple procedure (voltage selector switch hidden inside power supply and fuse needs to be changed) but should be done by a qualified technician. I will not include a power cable as these are a damage risk in transit, but any standard 'kettle' lead will do.
So a very unique machine with all of the classic 80's drum sounds on board, you will never see another DMX like this."
