"This creation has been made as an affordable alternative to the MalletKat or MalletStation products. The instrument comes with it's own internal sounds (6 patches - see below). It has a midi output as well for even greater flexibility.

On the surface are 12 - 3 3/8" rubber striking pads (comprising 1 octave), with 2 additional octaves available immediately on the fly via momentary foot switches (octave up and octave down). So you have access to a 3 octave range at all times when playing. This device is "not" velocity sensitive (when a note is struck, it outputs a consistent volume every time). For best results, strike in the middle area (left, right, center) with either your open hand (like with Congas) or with a mallet (Vic Firth Tympani Mallet T2 is recommended). The sensitivity is set for a firm hand.

The 6 sounds included are of high quality, and cover the 3 octave range. They are:

1. Vibes

2. Marimba

3. Glockenspiel

4. Xylophone

5. Hand Bells (1 octave), Tubular Bells (2 octaves)

6. Tympani (1 octave), Drums and Percussion (2 octaves)

Audio output is 1/4" mono. Included is a rechargeable plug-in practice amplifier that sits right in the 1/4" plug for convenience (pictured).

Dimensions are 28" x 9" x 3""
