"1978 Bee Gees # 1072 Rhythm Machine Electronic Music Synthesizer by Mattel. It has been tested and is in perfect working order. Includes the original box, styrofoam packaging and an instructional music book that includes 8 Bee Gees songs. It has 20 keys, Disco/ Latin/ Pop rhythm selectors, tempo button, a metal pullout on the bottom to prop up the back of the unit, tuning and volume controls. It runs on a 9 volt battery (not included). Looks almost new. Please see pics for condition. A must have for the Bee Gees collector!!"

"This is the Bee Gees Rhythm Machine Music Synth made by Mattel in 1978.

This synth was made famous by Kraftwork who used it on the song Pocket Calculator and also on some of their live concerts.

It features a 20 note keyboard and is a monophonic synth with a square wave type sound. It also has disco, latin and pop rhythms. When played at loud volumes the rhythm will mix and merge with the keyboard sound.

On the back there is a volume and pitch control. With the pitch you can make some interesting sounds while playing. It includes a built in speaker but also has a 1/8th inch audio jack so you can plug it into an amp.

It is battery powered and uses a square 9v battery (batteries not included!). The battery cover is missing.

It is fully working. It has some marks, scratches and scuffs to the plastic. The buttons and keys show some discolouration. The sticker above the keyboard and above the battery compartment shows some scuffing. The silver front shows a few slight bubbling marks. This can be seen in the photos."

"The Bee Gee's Electronic Music Synthesizer and Rhythm Machine. Takes a 9 volt battery. Works Great! On/off switch and volume control. Three different rhythms with a tempo button to speed up and turn off. Has a tuning button to change keys up and down. I listed it as "used" but I don't believe it's ever been used. The box is a little worn around the edges but the synthesizer is in very good shape."

Runs on a 9 volt battery. Has 4 buttons above the keyboard for Disco, Latin or Pop background rhythms, along with a Tempo button which adjusts the pitch or octave. It has a built-in speaker. It has a metal prop stand beneath which enables you to play it flat or at an angle...

Kraftwerk made this little unit famous by using it for a song called 'Pocket Calculator.' So it definitely has hipster cred and value for geeks of unusual toy synthesizers."

According to the auction, the seller also has a "1979 VANITY FAIR BEE GEES RECORD PLAYER / MICROPHONE" up for auction. I'm not seeing it listed at the time of this post, but you can check the seller's other items here later.
