You can find dmeos of one in previous posts.

"Incredibly cool piece of RARE vintage analog goodness. This is a pretty-much-mint condition 1970 Brother Auto Emillion GX-151 Synthesizer/Organ.

Before it was the Baldwin Discoverer DS-50, it was the Brother Auto-Emillion GX-151, manufactured by the Japanese printer company, who later sold the rights to Baldwin.

Made by Brother Industries, Nagoya Japan, and sold in the US under the name Baldwin Discoverer. Which was a favorite of Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys, and later Radiohead, Gorillaz, Beck, Haley Williams - Tiny Desk NPR, etc...

This one’s definitely for the collector, but could also be a fully functioning addition to the keys collection of any recording studio looking for those extremely rare, cool retro vibes.

This analog synth/organ has a number of great preset sounds, as well as the potential to create your own sounds combining different sound voices.

This machine has the ability to record user-created arpeggiated or chord sequences, and this function works perfectly. One saved sequence can be stored on a microchip which is working perfectly, even after powering off. It is also one finger or live automated if desired. Similar to a Suzuki Omnichord, but with a synth/keyboard.

There is a Mic input which can be volume controlled on the interface, expression pedal input, Line out, and Line in, Input jack for DC 12V.

There's a great built-in analog drum machine, with great preset rhythms, reminiscent of the Roland CR-78, and two different rhythms can be played at once, creating nice new combinations.

This is a great sounding machine with tons of character.

Again, it is in collector condition. Comes with the original Instruction Manual, the two original music stands, and complete with the original dark grey Brother carry bag.

Minus one tiny scratch on the left end piece. Every function, knob, and slider is in working condition. It’s been in storage for a few years, so some of the pots are scratchy, could use some canned air or contact cleaner. All in all, it’s in fantastic shape.

Purchased in Ireland, Comes with the original European 250v Brother A/C adapter. I’ll include the after market 12v USA adaptor pictured."

"Brother MDI - 40 Disk Composer MIDI in/out and Floppy drive! Condition is "Like New” with original box, power adapter, 2 midi cables and 2 floppy disks."

Note this does not produce sound. It's a MIDI data recorder. Think of it like a tape recorder that records and plays back MIDI.

Not the most spectacular item, but I don't believe one has been feature on the site before. This is a standard MIDI recorder that backs up to 3.5" floppy disks. I think I actually have one or a sibling in the closet. I used to record moody/spacey 4AD-esque synth tracks on it.

"Brother Electronic organ. It becomes a commodity manufactured in 1982 ~ with a very unusual keyboard. Because contact failure was seen, we did pot washing and there is no gull now.

Case: Soft case / genuine
Accessory: Power cord"

Brother GX-151 Synthesizer + Vesta Kozo DIG-412B Digital Delay test

Published on Nov 14, 2017 SUBTOKYOSHOP

"Brother GX-151 'Auto Emilion' Synthesizer + Vesta Kozo DIG-412B 80's Vintage Digital Delay test"

You can find one more demo of the Brother GX-151 from 2008 here. I'm guessing Brother is the same company that made typewriters. I own a Brother PDC 100 MIDI recorder which has the same Brother logo as on the typewriters. They also made the Philips PCM 100.

BROTHER AUTO EMILLION

via this auction

"Vintage 70's BROTHER AUTO EMILLION organ keyboard/synthesizer, made in Japan. features a wide range of sound options with both presets (Harpsichord, Marimba and Vibes); as well as user-controlled sounds via the separate mixers for Flute 8', Flute 4', Oboe and Violin. Additional controls are Vibrato and Sustain, along with various accompaniment options. Also included is a Rhythm Section/Drum Machine with a number of preset patterns which can be altered in Tempo and Output Volume in relation to the keyboard played sounds.

There is an onboard speaker, plus different input/output options on the back.

This unit is in excellent working order and very clean physical condition as pictured. It is a quality-built vintage portable organ - not a toy. The top and bottom casing panels are all metal, with plastic sides. The sounds are surprisingly good and the options are versatile for a range of uses - including stage. Dimensions of the organ itself are approx 76 x 30 x 10cm, and it weighs around 9kg"

You can find a video of one previously posted here.

Update via Joe McGinty in the comments: "Looks like a re-branded Baldwin Discoverer [posts here] (which is also very cool). Functions are exactly the same. Interesting."

Update2: you can also see one in this video with Tame Impala.

"Philips / Brother PCM 100 Composer Digital Sequencer
Very Rare portable digital sequencer from Philips / Brother

Fully featured rudimentary sequencer, with step and realtime input, 4 channels
Record results or data to inbuilt cassette! (see photos for details)
This unit also includes connectors for a guitar strap, or similar
uses 6 AA batteries (included), or a 9v power adaptor (not included)
Unfortunately, no english manual is available for the pcm 100, but a foreign language copy is available here"
Update via audiblesmiler (at) audiblesmile dot co dot uk:

"At one point in my career I ended up as the Technical Manager for the group within Philips that supported this gizmo.

(I remember how I found that out too - one day I found a stash of them in a store cupboard, and called the Philips Support main product support line to see if they could put me through to the tech support for it. Every time I tried it was busy, so after 3 or 4 attempts I asked if I could have the name and number, which they wouldn't normally give, but since it was an internal call, they trusted me. They gave me my own name and number...)

I've got a copy of the English user manual, and I'm happy to take requests for individual copies until I can get it scanned in and PDF'd. If there's enough demand I can do that over the coming holidays."
