Days of Yore - Echoic Drift

video upload by NOISEBUG

"The Echo Drift is the second tower shaped Reverb from the dynamic couple known as Days of Yore. Much like its taller tower relative (The Tower), the Echoic Drift is designed around a spring reverb tank. But not just any tank. The beautifully crafted wood structure houses the spring+effects. The springs in these units are hand selected, meticulously tuned to produce a dark lush resonant atmosphere for all audio signals. Echoic drift also provides users with an onboard echo unit which can be used as a kind of pre-delay, or be used creatively, rhythmically. The drifting element is a nice vibrato circuit. The vibrato is subtle, but when layered with the spring, echo and effects returns, proves to add a desirable layer of depth and movement.

Echoic Drift from Days of Yore offers a smaller version of their most towering spring reverb, delivering the same ethereal richness and spatialization of its taller sibling with a new dynamic echo effect onboard. Fitting comfortably in most studio spaces at just under nineteen inches tall, this comprehensive spring reverb and echo effect marries creative sound design with old world aesthetic appeal. While the physical craftsmanship of this Luxe Edition unit brings a touch of class to your studio or stage set-up, its expansive options for creating immersive spatialization effects impart a royal feast of sonic delights on any sound source.

In addition to the lovingly crafted and custom-designed spring tank, Echoic Drift offers uncompromising control over the lush reverberation the tank provides. With controls for wet and dry signal, input volume, pickup gain and drive, reverb compression, and output volume, it's easy to find any sort of reverb sound you need, from subtle depth to cavernous soundscapes. Create dynamic gated reverbs for impactful moments, with an adjustable three-stage envelope triggered by your input signal. Warble and bend tones with the vibrato rate and depth control, and add haunting echoes with the onboard delay effect. With its unconventionally attractive and nuanced design, Days of Yore's Echoic Drift offers a spring reverb effect that goes above and beyond to bathe signals in all sorts of analog beauty, bringing ear-catching reverb to any audio source.

The Tower - Days of Yore Vertical Reverb Unit

video upload by NOISEBUG

"The Tower from Days of Yore is a Vertical triple-spring reverb unit that is equally interesting looking as it is great sounding. There are lots of onboard fx/controls such as gate, vibrato, feedback, and drive. The Tower has it's own effect send and return and foot/pedal controller. There's a lot of potential experimentation packed into this thing.

In the video, the audio sources are all dry when patched into The Tower. No additional effects are used in this video.

The Tower is exceptional at adding subtle bounce or all-out drenched movement to anything you drive into it.

BAF 2024: Days Of Yore - The Tower Spring Reverb

video upload by sonicstate

"At the Buchla and Friends event in downtown LA, Kassia from Days of Yore showcased their latest creation - The Tower a 42-inch spring reverb that doubles as a beautiful piece of furniture. The reverb unit features three springs and offers a range of analog effects including gate, vibrato, feedback, send-return, mixer settings, overdrive, input volume, pickup intensity, and a compressor. The gate feature helps eliminate unwanted sounds and control the length of the reverb. The hand-built spring reverb is priced at $3,600, with production set to begin in March.

Kassia also presented the Matrix Mixer, a unique design with five inputs and outputs that allows for creative modulation and the creation of unexpected sounds. The matrix mixer combines channels to generate resonance, feedback loops, and endless soundscapes. Its upright design was chosen to save space in the studio, as the mixer is meant to complement traditional mixers rather than replace them. The Matrix Mixer will be available in April for $2,600.
