gTar Meets Ableton
YouTube Published on Jun 2, 2012 by incidenttech
You might remember the gTar from this previous demo.
"Lots of people have been asking us whether the gTar is MIDI compatible. The short answer is yes, but we wanted to illustrate some of the exciting things it can do. Here, we've mapped the fretboard out to an Ableton Live set where it is triggering loops and one-shots.
What isn't demonstrated here is the ability to use a d-pad between the 12th-16th frets to navigate around different areas of the set. There appears to be a bit of lag with the clip triggers, but that has to do with the quantize settings, not the latency of the controller (this should be evident with the triggering of the snares).
You can secure a first-run gTar through our Kickstarter page here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/incident/gtar-the-first-guitar-that-anybody-can-play
And if you're interested in learning more, check out our Facebook page: facebook.com/incidentgtar.
The demo contains a sample from Danny Daze's track "Fall Away From Love". If you're a representative for Mr. Daze, Hot Creations, or an ancillary rights holder and object to this usage, please contact us directly (info at incidenttech dot com)."
