Published on Mar 30, 2014 Jane Freiheit·2 videos

"This hardware mod integrates a custom MIDI to CV interface based on MIDIbox CV and the Midimplant MiniCV into the Maschine's case.

Available are 8 gates, 2 of which have additional velocity outputs, as well as a 1V/oct CV and gate combo.

All sounds come from the the modular synth being sequenced by Maschine"

Vintage Moog Realistic Concertmate MG-1 with MIDImplant

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction

"Moog MG-1 w/ mods & hard case + Midi to CV converter

This Moog MG-1 synth is fully functioning and in good cosmetic shape (normal signs of wear on an instrument of this age).... Tone Source tuning knob is not original.

This unit has had the following upgrades performed:

• Filter input: send external audio signals through the famous Moog filter
• PWM mod: Tone Source Modulation only effects Tone Source 2 - this allows for pulse width modulation when the tone sources are in sync
• 1/4" audio output on back
• Inside of unit was cleaned / black goo removed

Also included in this auction is a MIDI to CV converter that runs on a 9V battery (included) and velcros to the back of the synth
It includes midi in, 1/4" CV out, 1/4" Gate out, on/off switch, and learn button.
2 patch cables also included
Its set up to work with the MG-1 (on midi channel 5) but will work with many analog monosynths.
Programmable with the Learn button or configure your own settings online at midiimplant(dot)com
Manual included"

Just realized I didn't have a MIDImplant label. I added it with this post and added it to previous posts as well. See the MIDImplant channel below for more. You can find them at http://midimplant.com.

Laurentide Synthworks MFOS Soundlab Mini-Synth MKII 2-Voice Poly Synth

via Laurentide Synthworks:

"The past couple of months I have slowly been designing a 2-Voice Poly Synth. At it's core, it is 2 MFOS Soundlab Mini-Synth MKII's. I've spent a lot of time tweaking ideas on how to implement everything. Pretty much all of the parts are there, I just need to put it together. Easier said than done.

It starts at a Mutable Instruments MIDIpal. Eventually I will try to tweak the MIDIpal code so it only has some of the apps, like Dispatcher (of course), arp, seq and maybe some others. Keep it simple. The MIDIpal will be connected internally to 2 chained midimplant's (MIDI to CV) which will be wired to each Soundlab. This is how the polyphony will be achieved. I will have MIDI IN & THRU jacks mounted on the rear of the case.

The front panel will have both Soundlabs mounted side by side. There will be a 3rd panel to the left of the 1st Soundlab that will be home to the MIDIpal as well as some other cool stuff..."

MFOS Soundlab with MIDI and other mods

YouTube Uploaded by clackbeetle on Apr 27, 2011

"I had some parts laying around from Various jobs at clacktronics, so rather than waste them I thought I would create a synthesizer. I had a PCB for the soundlab from a workshop I did and I tried to make it behave more like a performance synthesizer, this involved modding and calibrating it to behave properly.

It is for sale so email Ben@clacktronics.co.uk for enquiries and any questions - for thos of you interested I will be posting this mods shortly on clacktronics.co.uk

The Mods I have added to the Soundlab are as follows

An Octave Switcher - single switch that changes the pitch from a very low C and six octaves up, for both VCO's

Improvement to CV summing - the original Soundlab drags the CV's down to almost -15 for the filters and VCA, but with MIDI and an octave switcher this makes the LFO to VCO almost useless as the pitch drags right down and the switcher cant bring it up high enough. To fix this I made all CV's operate around GND and created a separate mixer that buffers and pulls the voltages down for the VCA/VCF. This means you can add the LFO or AR to the VCO's and they will modulate the pitch around the set note making vibrato sounds much easier.

The MIDI part of the synthesizer is a MIDImplant by Roman Sowa, The pitch CV directly controls the VCO's and the gate goes to the AR generator. The MIDImplant has 2 CV's though so I added a switch that allows the second VCO to be controlled by the second CV - the only problem is that it has to be controlled on a second MIDI channel as the Implant cannot do polyphonic assigning of the CV outputs. The second CV is normally connected to the VCA or VCF inputs this allows velocity or mod wheel control (this will be demonstrated in another video) All the MIDI settings are on the back of the Soundlab and the assignment of MIDI channel and parameters are all controlled by a single button.

The power supply - It runs of an AC adaptor that supplies Ray Wilsons wall wart supply inside at -/+15v, this means it can interact with normal synthesizers more easily taking CV's upto 10v and normal gate levels (the sockets are provided on the back)

Please note that I have only just finished this synth and there needs to be a bit more calibration!!
