Today we are going to check outthe Voltage Multi Stage 16 by Verbos Electronics!
I've been a mega fan for years of the original Multi Stage (8 steps) released in 2014 and I was super happy to see this new bigger version with many upgrades such as the stage select inputs and revamped 'stage adress' mode.
I'll show you some cool patches with this thing and I hope you'll have fun.

There's been a lot of talk about technical issue with this module online and I'd like to report that mine works correctly. I got it from Verbos to do the video and I had some issue with the power of the Black Box case that was fixed very quickly. Other than that so far so good."

The “Easel” Spirit in 3U: Rebuilding a Buchla Soul in Eurorack

The Buchla Music Easel is legendary. It isn’t just a synthesizer. It’s a self-contained performance ecosystem. For many of us, the “Easel” workflow is the holy grail of synthesis. However, instead of chasing original hardware, I’ve spent the past five years rebuilding its specific soul within the Eurorack format. Because everyone deserves a hobby, right?

The Chef vs. The Sculptor
Most East Coast synthesizers work like a sculptor. You start with a massive block of harmonic noise (Sawtooth or Square waves) and carve it away with a filter. The Buchla workflow is different. It’s like being a chef in your own Hell’s Kitchen. You start with basic, “bland” ingredients (sine waves) and spice them up with Frequency Modulation (FM), Amplitude Modulation (AM), your choice, and then fold until the sound sizzles.

My current rig recreates this spirit by focusing on three pillars: Uncertainty, Complex Oscillation, and the iconic Sequential Voltage Source.

Part One: The Modulators (The Brain)
In a true Easel style setup, the Tokyo Tape Music Center 5-Step Sequencer acts as the brain. While most modern sequencers favor 4-8-16-32 steps, the 5-step limitation is actually a creative superpower.

The Science of Analog Drone Creation

Verbos Electronics has long been recognized for building modular systems that do not simply generate notes but reveal the raw behavior of electricity itself. The Producer Configuration is particularly suited for drone work, where harmonic layers shift slowly, filters carve unpredictable resonance fields, and subtle saturation becomes part of the sound structure. The results are thick yet soft textures that cannot be duplicated by other synthesizers.

In digital systems, sound often remains linear and predictable. With Verbos, saturation accumulates, harmonics drift, and the result is an organic density that becomes physical inside a mix. This is why experimental producers in techno, industrial, bass music, and electronic composition value these tones. They are not interchangeable with anything else.

The original Voltage Multistage has an analog sequencer core with several unique features that allow it to function as a sequencer with switchable slides on each step, multistage envelope of any length with sustain on any stage, any shape of LFO, voltage quantizer, and more.

The Voltage Multistage 16 is no longer based on a CMOS counter core, but is built around discrete transistor stages, which enables gate inputs on each stage. This allows external gates to jump it to any stage, multiple loops and sequences that start at one stage and then enter into a loop later.

5. Crosspatch Triggerpad Updates - Launchpad Sequencer - Bristronica 25

Mitja tells us the latest news about his module at this year's Machina Bristonica. The Triggerpad module converts your Launchpad into a standalone Eurorack. This allows you to repurpose an older Launchpad that might be gathering dust for your Eurorack system. The workflow is super simple and hands-on. You have features such as polymeter per track, swing and micro steps at your fingertips. The new features are BPM modulation and triplets.

6. UDO Audio DMNO 8-voice 2-part multitimbral - Bristonica 25

We have just had the opportunity to take a first look at the new, innovative synth from UDO Audio: the DMNO.
