Ensoniq EPS16+ | The cult/mythical Waveboy Effects
video upload by Espen Kraft
See the Waveboy label at the bottom of this post for more.
"Released in the early 90s, the Waveboy effects are custom effect algorithms you can load into your Ensoniq EPS 16-Plus or ASR-10 to access new effects, features and functionality.
Some of the effects simply enhance the effects already included, others enable you to make completely different sounds.
Some of these also makes it possible to use the EPS or ASR10 as an effects unit, in real time. Very cool. There were 7 different effects disks + some additional disks with new Transwaves, new waveforms to be used when building patches and instruments.
This shots are of me going through many of these in search for something cool I can use in my music. These aren't really meant as a tutorial or demo as such."

Waveboy Ensoniq EPS 16+ External Audio Time Dicer FX
Published on May 25, 2017 The Daydream Sound
"WAVEBOY FX disk are a set of after market disks for the Ensoniq EPS16+, TS10 & ASR-10. In this video we’ll do a quick demo of the AUDIO-IN EFFECTS DISK. Specifically, the Audio-In/Time Dicer - Input Effects and Pitch Shifting functions by passing a live sequence from the Roland MC303 directly in to the EPS16+
How to load Waveboy FX disk
1. Plug the output of your external source into the Audio Input of the EPS16+. This can be a microphone or line level signal as long as it terminates to an unbalanced ¼” cable (In the FX menu you can choose between MIC & LINE as a source).

"CD with ISO images of all of the official Ensoniq sound libraries, OS 1.30 on disk along with Waveboy plug-ins (see picture with red disk), 2 SCSI cables, a SCSI hard disk, and both the original manual and an excellent supplementary manual that I haven't seen anywhere online.
Autechre and El-P are two producers that have exploited the power of this sampler beautifully --- it has a very unique sound to it, which I personally found great for drums and sampled chords. Raw and crunchy if you want it to be, and one of the quickest samplers to use once you learn the workflow."
