KMI Launches QuNeo Rogue Indiegogo Campaign
See the video here.
"Rogue is a robust wireless connection and battery for the QuNeo 3D Pad Controller.
BERKELEY, California – September 9, 2013 – KMI has officially launched an Indiegogo campaign for its newest product— QuNeo Rogue, an integrated wireless connectivity and long lasting battery power accessory for KMI's QuNeo pad controller. Giving artists unprecedented freedom, now anyone with a QuNeo can use Rogue to get out from behind their gear and into the spotlight.
What is Rogue?
Rogue is an accessory for the QuNeo that supplies long lasting battery power and an incredibly robust wireless connection to a computer.
Rogue attaches quickly and easily to the bottom of your QuNeo with low-profile velcro.
Battery life for Rogue exceeds 12 hours (in time-trials we saw it function over 16 hours).
Artists say…
"The idea of having a really sophisticated controller that's completely wireless would really open up a lot of opportunities that currently don't exist."
- Dan Deacon (yes, that Dan Deacon!)
"I love this controller; it's absolutely amazing. They're going to make my favorite controller even better- by making it wireless!"
- Thavius Beck (Producer/Artist, Dubspot Instructor, Ableton Certified Trainer)
"KMI told me about the Rogue and my brain started flipping out a little bit."
- Jack Conte (Pomplemoose, Patreon) (built a QuNeo playing robot!)
Learn more at www.keithmcmillen.com/QuNeo/rogue/
Contribute to our Indiegogo campaign now and be one of the first to get a Rogue for $350 (US shipping, add $50 for Int’l shipping) or get a QuNeo + Rogue for $450 (includes US shipping, add $50 for Int’l shipping)"

Realistic MG-1 by MOOG

via this auction
SN 1237 or 1437
pics of the inside below.

1. Indivdually switchable waveforms for each oscillator (rather than ganged on the Rogue)
2. Individually switchable octave for each osc (rather than ganged on the Rogue)
3. Ring Mod sound source (called Bell Tone)
4. Extra poly section. This is often referred to as the "crappy 'organ' sound", but it's an extra feature that can be useful.
5. Internal power supply with attached cord (the Rogue has an external power supply that has a unique connector, so replacements are difficult to come by)
The only things the Rogue has over the MG-1 are:
1. Performance wheels (the MG-1 has sliders for mod depth but no pitch bend ability).
2. Fully variable keyboard tracking (the MG-1 has off, half, full - switched)
There are a few other quirks that this unit has because of it being aimed at the home market. Many of the controls has different labels (Oscillators are called Tone Source, Attack and Decay are referred to as Rise and Fall Time, etc). It also has RCA outputs on the back. There is a 1/4" headphone output on the front which is what I'ved used and it works great. Many people mod theirs to replace the RCA with 1/4" inputs. There are two RCA inputs but they just pass the sound through uneffected so that users could play along with their record collection. Many people have modded those inputs to pass through the Filter section. MIDI can also be added to this unit by mod.
This unit is usually found for less than the Moog Rogue simply because it doesn't have the Moog logo on it. If you want that famous Moog sound for less, then get this synth! It has great features and has some serious bass to it!"

MOOG Rogue New In Box (and Out)
Details:
"Here is a Rogue Moog new in box. New, as in never used, still in original box & packaging along with new manual, technical service manual & power plug. Serial no. 8799. I bought a number of Moogs new from the factory in the 80s, and left some of them in storage. Have finally accepted that i won't ever use some of them, am selling off the goods.
It has been sitting in a cool, controlled storage facility since purchase. This new Rogue, accompanied by original packaging, box, manual, technical service manual and power cord deserves a home with someone who will use and appreciate it.
As far as the sound, it's great. Classic Moog that blows current synths out of the water. They'll make your speakers move. If you want the best in analog sounds, it doesn't get better than classic Moog filtering like this. I have owned all the best Moogs and the Rogue sounds fantastic, far superior to today's analog emulations and not embarassed head-to-head with more famous Moogs. Easily midied to bring it into today's productions, using existing CV & Gate jacks on the back.
Here is some info on the Rogue:
The Rogue, a "Miniaturized, cost-cutting successor" to the Moog Prodigy, is a 2-VCO, monophonic synthesizer with a 2-1/2 octave, 32-note (F-C) keyboard. Both VCOs are tunable to three octaves by a common switch. In addition, VCO2 is tunable via a knob to anywhere between a half-step below to an octave above VCO1. There is also a single switch that selects the waveform for both VCOs. A three position switch syncs VCO2 to VCO1. It can be hard synced or contoured synced, where the amount that VCO2 is synced to VCO1 is controlled by the envelope generator. The mixer section allows both VCOs and the noise generator to be mixed together, with a slider controlling each level. The mixer can be pushed to overdrive (distort) the waveforms. The filter section features variable keyboard tracking controlled by a knob, and sliders for the cutoff frequency, emphasis (resonance), and envelope amount. It also has "the pitch and mod wheels up above the keyboard, not to the left of it, along with a fine tune knob and a glide (portamento) knob." The Rogue has a single envelope generator for attack and decay, that switches to activate the sustain mode. There is also a switch that selects how the envelope affects the VCA. It can be set for either contour, keyed, or bypass (which was a simple organ-style gate).
Item in original box/packaging will be double-boxed and surround by packing materials.
Any questions don't hesitate."
Question: why did he open the box? via Dave.

"The Rogue features a 32 note keyboard and two VCOs. Has a wide variety of sounds and modulation effects and also includes a Sample-and-hold feature. Rear panel interface ports allow The Rogue to communicate with other synthesizers, sequencers, etc. The Rogue has been designed as a lead synthesizer and is most commonly used for its POWERFUL BASS! Like the Moog Taurus [II] without the pedals with little difference in sound!"

"Does the inauthenticity of the bourgeois life have you down? Want the dictatorship of the proletariat NOW? Then this is the synthesizer that you need. Lovingly crafted in Soviet Russia (ok, actually Buffalo, New York), this radical synthesizer will give you EVERYTHING you need to expose the hypocrisy of liberal freedom. In addition, it comes with the original instruction manual. How cool is that, comrade?!?
A monophonic analog synthesizer produced by the original Moog Music in the early 1980s, The Rogue featured a 32-note keyboard and two VCOs. VCO number 2 is tunable between a half-step below to an octave above VCO number 1. This allows the Rogue to play atonal sounds like the Moog Prodigy. The Rogue did not have features to allow the user full flexibility to program the patch settings, however the VCF and the VCA were simple in operation. The synthesizer is most commonly used for its powerful bass.
This synth is in perfect working condition. Don't pass up this opportunity to join THE STRUGGLE..."

Moog "The Rogue" Monophonic Synthesizer
"Another thing that makes this Rogue great is that somebody has already removed the dreaded "black foam" gasketing from under the keybed. Why? Moog Rogues have a common problem: The foam rubber used to dampen the keys tends to rot and melt all over the electronics. It must be removed before this happens otherwise it can cause electrical damage. It's always something to watch out for when buying a Rogue. Fortunately for you, it was removed by a previous owner of this synth. That means this Rogue will continue to go go go!

Mint MOOG ROGUE VINTAGE ANALOG SYNTH SN 9110 with Original Box
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
"Mint condition, fully refurbished Moog Rogue monophonic 100% analog synthesizer manufactured in the 1980's by Moog while they were headquartered in New York before the first bankrupcy - not Asheville, NC as they are now. This Moog has a bit of history with it. Comes with the original box (of course matching serials #911), packaging materials and the original Moog Rogue manual in good condition. It's as if you were receiving it in 1984. This is a total collectors piece, immaculate condition. Check photos to experience how clean this unit is.
The power adapter was completely rebuilt and replaced so the synth now stays in tune perfectly for an all analog VCO. All parameters work perfectly, you'd be hard pressed to find such a perfect specimen nowadays of this 30+ year old synthesizer."

"JSI Progue Synthesizer Moog Rogue Prodigy.
Freshly built and calibrated. This one is housed in the metal case, instead of the PCB front panel and bud box which has to be hand drilled for the rear connectors and dip switch Comes with PSU.
'PROGUE is a monophonic analog DIY synthesizer inspired by the two well-known vintage synthesizers: ROGUE and PRODIGY. While both of them had their pros and cons, the goal with the PROGUE was to combine their best qualities into a single portable tabletop synthesizer.
The prime focus was maintaining those specific sound characteristics that still makes them desirable today and to add some of the features we always thought they lacked.
From independently modulated PWM and Oscillator Gate Sync to passive High-Pass Filter and precise Fine-tuning of the Oscillators, PROGUE delivers it all without forgetting the modern self-evident functionalities like Polychain via MIDI.'”
