The Clearing — 60 Minutes of Live Deep Listening & Slow Soundscapes (Summer Solstice 2026)
video upload by Greg Wilder
"On the summer solstice — Sunday, June 21, 2026 — a chapel in Keene, New Hampshire became a room for deep listening.
The Clearing is an occasional non-denominational sound environment: 60-90 minutes of live, slow-moving music composed and improvised in real time, meant for rest, presence, and one another's company. No screens. Nothing is asked of you, except to be present.
This was the first gathering of The Clearing, held on the longest day of the year.
On this occasion, some attendees sat quietly in chairs. Others lay on the floor with yoga mats and meditation cushions. Some did self-guided meditation or gentle yoga. Others simply listened. An adjoining parlor offered tea and conversation between friends and neighbors. The evening ended with a lively Q&A with the audience.
The music draws from the deep listening practice of Pauline Oliveros, the sustained-tone traditions of Éliane Radigue and La Monte Young, and the sacred sound lineage of Hildegard von Bingen through New England hymnody — all filtered through the electronic instruments of Greg Wilder and Alison Wilder.

Outer Limits of the Akai AX80 | Affordable Alternative to the Roland Jupiter 6?
video upload by Greg Wilder
"Is the Akai AX80 a handsome but BORING instrument? Not so fast. This gorgeous brute has mastered things other synths can't touch.
Simply put, the AX80 has a STRONG personality. But to find it, you'll have to push it to the outer limits of what the engine was built to do. To quote the great WC Olo Garb (https://www.youtube.com/@Jexus)...
'The bass feels not like fresh warm blood pumped into your veins - it feels like getting hit in the head with a large rubber baseball bat. The lead feels not like rubbing your belly with a feather - it feels like having your ribcage ripped open by an electric bread cutter.'"
