4/16/25 (transpose) ARP 1623 & 1613 + Roland System 100m + Alesis MIDIVERB II + Paia 6740
video upload by Cfpp0
"4/16/25 (transpose) ARP 1623 & 1613 + Roland System 100m + Alesis MIDIVERB II + Paia 6740 + ALM Pamela’s New Workout
Well, I’ve been having too much fun with the ARP 1623 sequencer, so we decided not to sell it after all. We were lucky and got it during the pandemic from an eBay auction with no reserve and no lurking whales, and we know we won’t be that lucky again. In this video the 1623 sequence is transposed by a slower sequence on the ARP 1613. The ALM Pamela’s New Workout clocks the ARP 1623 sequencer, which is in sequential 8/2 mode. The 1623’s Position 1 output drives the 1613, which is also in 8/2 sequential mode, but with a three step sequence (steps 4-8 are set to gate bus 3). The 1613 quantized output A is mixed with the 1623’s quantized output B in the Roland 130 mixer, then that controls the pitch of one of the Roland 110 VCOs. The 1623’s quantized A controls the other 110 VCO’s pitch. The 150 LFO and the 140 LFO are modulating the two 110 VCFs. Both VCAs run through the Lower West Side Studios M830 Signal Distribution System to the Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer. The Alesis MIDIVERB II is on an aux send and the stereo output returns to two channels on the Mackie, hard-panned, with onboard eq to brighten it up. The Paia 6740 spring reverb is panned hard left."

"This massive modular was sold at VEMIA in April 21, but due to a combination of circumstances - Covid, Brexit, and family crises - it has sat in its cabinets in the VEMIA warehouse ever since. The buyer has finally decided that the sensible thing to do is to offer it back for auction. It was well serviced in May/June 21 at VEMIA but has not been touched since until we photographed it just now.
Please check the photos for what is included. There are a lot of useful modules from modern 5U makers like dotcom, MOSLab and Yusynth, which make this a fully functional sequencing modular, but the main interest has to be the array of early R.A. Moog modules. This seems to be a pretty much complete R.A. Moog IIP, with three additional envelopes converted to 1/4 inch triggers, and a couple of other rare modules.
The early Trumansburg R.A. Moog modules include: 911 Envelope (s-trig connector replaced with 1/4 inch), 902 VCA, 903A Random signal generator, 905 Reverb, mixers x2, CV Switch banks (not connected). 904-B HPF, 904-C Filter coupler, 904-A LPF, 902 VCA, 902 VCA, 984 four channel mixer, 911 Envelope with s-trig, 911 Envelope with s-trig, power supply, Trigger connectors/ CV switches ( 1 CV switch has end snapped off, 2 bulbs need replacing), 907 Fixed filter bank, rare Filter and attenuator, 911 Envelope (s-trig replaced with 1/4 inch), 901b VCO, 901a VCO controller, 901b VCO, 901b VCO, 901b VCO, 901a VCO controller, 901b VCO, 901b VCO, 901b VCO.. CV switches/mixers x2 all working..
Later Moog modules: 911 Envelope ( s-trig connector replaced with 1/4 inch), rare Sine Converter, Moog Triple quad multiples. Plus the two dotcom sequencers etc etc. The Moogerfooger voltage unit enables the included Roland System 100m keyboard to control the Moog. Cabling is included as seen.
The modules look in beautiful condition. The cabinets all have their lids in good condition, and are solid, complete, and un-damaged. One or two of the cabinet backs are not original and have unmatched or missing screws.
Because it was sitting for four years in its cabinets, no doubt some pots may be scratchy, and some calibration will be needed. If you want, our tech can do that cost-effectively given enough time after the auction (rough worst case estimate 1000 - 1500GBP) - or you can get your tech to do the same after arrival. We think there is no reason why the rich and powerful 901s can't be calibrated to stay in tune over four or five octaves (at the 8' setting). Changing the octave switch will lessen the range.
We will palletise this (90GBP) for courier delivery or can deliver in many parts of the UK."

"This was recently serviced by Belltone Synth Works just outside of Philadelphia. The sliders and pots have been cleaned, modules repaired, and it has been calibrated to Roland's specifications. This particular 100M comes with the 112, 120, 130, 140, and 150 modules as well the model 181 49 key controller.
There is the slightest dent on the top of the controller (see photos for condition). The keys are a little loud / clacky. The modular itself is in very good condition. There is some wear (once again, see photos for the condition).
I am including 5 cables to connect to modules to the cabinet-- one of which is NOT original. I am also including the longer din cable that connects the controller to the 100M as well as a handful of patch cables.
Most of these System 100Ms are 100V. This one is no exception. It would be best to use a stepdown transformer to convert US mains voltage to Japanese mains voltage.
This is a well cared for System 100M. I am selling it because I need to make space in my studio. Testing it out before listing it, I was tempted to keep it. Alas, I just need the space."

"This is one of the rarest if not THE rarest System 100m production run module Roland made. This is serial #00002. I have no idea how this works, and based on online discussion, it is a bit of a mystery. Yes, the price is $5000USD, but the price of the 165, 172, 173,174, 182 have all gone sky high in the last few years. I figure this is worth more, just based on rarity alone. This is a collectors item, not something that I figure is actually usable in today's world. My exact module was featured in '50 years of Roland History' book."

7/18/23 Roland 104 (for sale) sequences UH-lectronics telephone synth + Fairfield Circuitry + D-TWO

"Fairfield Circuitry’s Unpleasant Surprise pedal eats a telephone-cum-synthesizer created by UH-lectronics, which is being sequenced by a Roland 104 sequencer from the legendary System 100. Some T.C. Electronics D-TWO too. The 104 sequencer was refurbished in 2020 by the very meticulous Tone Tweakers in NYC, which is reflected in the price at Christopher’s Boutique 489 on Reverb where it is for sale." Link below.
Update: two more videos:
7/18/23 Roland 104 sequences Metasonix RK-7 (x2), R-54 (x2), R-53, RK-2 + CXM 1978

"Ergonomics are not just for the elderly! If all that Eurorack wiggling and tweaking is giving you arthritis, get yourself a vintage sequencer with big knobs made for a human hand, but fitted with with the ubiquitous 3.5mm output and input jacks.
This 104 sequencer was created as part of Roland’s classic System 100, but it is very useful with other synthesizers. I have used it on Roland’s SH 101, but mostly on Roland’s System 100m. The 104 and the 100m get along very well.
The 104 produces CV and gate, has an internal clock, and can be externally stepped. Two CV channels. Series outputs and parallel outputs. 2.5v, 5v, 10v selectable per channel. CV in on the clock! End pulse output. Plus the Step button—handy for getting your sequence to the right step before starting up the master clock, or for punching in 1/8th notes when you overdub on a song you recorded to tape, but the tape stretched and you can’t clock the sequence you wanna drop so you go manual and tap that step button.
This 104 has been fully serviced by Tone Tweakers. They call it “future-proofing” but their servicing really means it works and is dependable because they fix anything wrong with it and preemptively replace parts known to fail."
