"New April 2024 JEC James Edward Cosby iVCS3 Preset Bank '11-Eleven' containing 211 presets, the first 140 are playable and the remaining 71 are Sequences, Drones and self playing patches. The bank also comes with 51 accompanying CV/Audio files providing some processed Audio and Envelope / LFO CV Structures which can be used via the input channels to modulate destinations via Matrix Rows 8 and/or 9. These files may be used in your own non commercial patches to add extra functionality like percussive envelope transients and specially designed LFO shapes and fx. The first 4 Presets are related and can be morphed using the Snapshot Pad while being played via an external controller... This promotional video demos 4 short live compositions each using 2 presets, a sequence and a complimentary lead... cheers all..."

iVCS3 AUM Midi CV Conversion & CV Over Audio

"Example of using AUM To route CV over Audio Busses and how this can be used to convert Midi to CV. In addition to this the video shows how an iVCS3 Sequence can be transposed using a midi keyboard input. When transmitting Control Voltages over Audio Busses care must be taken with levels as these ultimately set the amount of modulation applied to the destination. This is especially true when the destination is an Oscillator's Frequency to obtain the desired Voltage to Octave ratio."

This preset uses a punchy JECV Envelope encoded File fed into Input 2 to modulate the Filter via Matrix Row 9, the filter is also Inversely Frequency Mapped to the Sequencer Notes. The percussive sounds are provided by the noise module set to high colour and filtered. The sequence is interpolated to give the illusion of layered sequences...

Ipad Synth or Original: IVCS3 compared to EMS Synthi AKS

"Some additional Infos: excerpts from trying to get objective data comparing an app with the original synthesizer. Don´t take it for granted, especially comparing waveforms here in such a short feature. So probably with mistakes, but somehow the tendency: the app is quite good! One core challenge that should be done better is comparing the filters, which might behave different in every hardware device and are one important character of the ems synths.
Interesting: Sine (sorry for german/latin "sinus") wave on AKS AND IVCS is not pure and has quite some harmonic distortion (due to Wave shaper?). Normally around 5%THD. The sine of the self oscillating Filter should be around 3% THD. Here its more, but somehow congruent analog and digital!
Of course there can be endless discussions comparing virtual with analog vintage. We all know its two different Animals. But as it comes to sound and hearing this might be a trigger for you to check by yourself, whats cooking with your hardware/app gear. Believing is not knowing."
