A Visit to Thighpaulsandra's Aeriel Studios Pt 13 - Pt 14

YouTube via matrixsynth.

Thighpaulsandra shows us the Synton Syrinx. Note that this marks the last post in the set. To view all of them, click on the Aeriel Studios label below. Again, I'd like to thank Thighpaulsandra and Peter Forest for taking the time out to meet up with me. I couldn't have asked for better company.

Modular Synthesizer By Oceanus Part II

YouTube via xd515. Part 1 previously posted here.
"Continuing on with the build, I have now added 2 Voltage controlled filters and a 4 channel mixer. Still got to wire up the keyboard, but it is half way there! If anyone has a spare drum machine (old one) I would love to try and sync the two together"

More Modular Blips N Bleeps

YouTube via dkimcg
"The Model 24 generates the frequency CV, the self cycling Model 10 times out the model 17 which gates the model 13. The Model 15s sync and FM and gave control signals from the ramp output of the Model 10. Model 11 Evil Twin filter on the left, Model 12 State Variable Vactrol Filter on the right. Halfway through, the Model 24 takes over the timing and makes it sound a little more interesting than the LFO mode in the Model 10."

NOVA-X ORGONICS analog synth for Hammond B-3 Organ

images via this auction

"The NOVA-X ORGONICS analog synth add-on modification for Hammond B-3 Organ.
What is it? An aftermarket mod which adds ANALOG SYNTH sounds and functions to a Hammond Organ. Use is not limited to the B-3, any of the vintage Hammonds would work, such as A series, B series (BC, BV, B-2...), C series, A-100 series, H-100, RT series, etc. Requires installation by qualified personnel.

* There is a WIRING HARNESS that you (the tech) would solder to one set of the keyboard contacts, typically in the upper manual.

* The other end of the wiring harness connects to the blue DIVIDER MODULE which has a set of removable circuit boards that provide the synth tones.
* The Divider Module connects to the CONTROL HEAD and the three gold boxes: the POWER SUPPLY, the CONNECTOR BOX and the VOLUME PEDAL.
* The CONTROL HEAD mounts in place of the left hand cheek-block.
* The CONNECTOR BOX connects to the Divider Module, Power Supply, and MAIN SYNTH UNIT. It has a 1/4" output jack also.
* The MAIN SYNTH UNIT is the large tolex-covered box that has most of the knobs, switches, etc. It would sit on top of the organ. The other components would probably be installed in the organ somewhere (like the inside of the back panel). The Main Synth Unit has all the typical ANALOG SYNTH functions: Oscillators (VCO), Envelope (VCA), Filter (VCF), Modulation (LFO), White Noise, Glide/Portamento/Glissando, etc, etc.
* The VOLUME PEDAL box connects by lever to the existing SWELL PEDAL.

This project is for the serious HamTech type of person. It's complicated. Should be tons of fun for someone that likes to tinker with Hammonds and Synths."

Automaton alpha preview

Automaton alpha preview from Chris Randall on Vimeo.
"This is a quick demonstration of the sequencer engine and the effects in Automaton. The software is still in alpha, and some of the user interface elements are missing, but you can get the general idea of what is going on with this, I think.

I will put up individual in-depth overviews of each section of the plugin once it enters beta. The purpose of this video was mainly to test the screencasting software."
