"I felt like making some noise tonight, but didn't feel like getting into writing anything too structured, so I set the DSI Evolver's sequencer to modulating the filter, patched up the modular and fired up the camera (because nothing happens if the internet doesn't see it). Here's the result.
The Modular patch is the A-111 and A-110 cross modulating each other, while simultaneously outputting Sine, Square and Saw. The Sine is routed to the A-125 VC phase shifter, the Saw is routed to the A-121 multimode filter (output as bandpass), and the Square is re-triggering the A-147 LFO at audio rate. The LFO is then sent to the A-122 24db LPF. Both filters and the phase shifter are summed at the VC mixer, where their levels are modulated by ramp waves 45 degrees out of phase with each other via the A-191 Shepard Generator. The Shepard Generator is also providing triangle LFOs to modulate the cutoff frequency of the filters and phase shifter.
This patch evolves nicely on it's own, but I tweaked it a bit to try to keep it interesting.
When I was done, I felt like it needed a little something, so dumped it into Cubase, where I overdubbed a nice thin digital pad."
