Modular Drum Machine - Synthesizers.com + Yusynth + MFOS
YouTube via Thalassa77
"http://switchedonsynthesizer.blogspot.com
This patch emulates the classical sound of the drum machines from the 60s-70s
The core of this patch is white noise generator , that is filtered using a multi mode filter.
The sequencer CV out is controlling the the 1/cvt input of the filter, so you can program on the sequencer different filter response for every step.
The filter has individual outs for filter types, here I'm using high-pass and band pass connected to a mixer and mixer out is conecto to VCA .
The VCA is controlled by one ADSR that is triggered by sequencer gate out.
Modules used in this patch :
Yusynth Noise Generator
Synthesizers.com State Variable Filter
Synthesizers.com 4 Channel Mixer
Synthesizers.com Envelope Generator
Synthesizers.com Amplifier
MFOS 16 Step Analog Sequencer

Siel Orchestra II; differences in the OR400 and Sequential Circuits Prelude versions
YouTube via sounddoctorin
"Bob Weigel of Sound Doctorin' ( http://www.sounddoctorin.com) compares these two divide down combo synths of the early 80's. They are primarily just different cosmetically. But it turns out there is a fairly major surprise in that the SCI machine has normal polyphonic release on the strings, whereas the Siel OR400 'mutes' the strings when a new chord or note is hit without fingers on the previously established chord/note. Useful in a mix. But distracting when listened to alone when you are trying to get a flowing overlay of notes. I cut out the section where I talked about the volume controls delivering different levels at the points I had them set also. I guess I never checked to see if the SCI unit just had hotter output or of it's a different taper slider come to think of it. Oh well. Not a major factor anyway. But there is a difference there. And the EQ's as I noted are very different in their levels. The OR400... you have to set them all very high to get levels similar to the un-eq'd sound where the Prelude this is not the case. There may be a trimmer for that. Not sure. I'll look into it someday maybe. I don't have the service manual for these...just the Orchestra 1 I believe."
Appendage Touch Ribbon Sequencer and Klee: Controlling Synced VCO
YouTube via ScottStites
"This patch uses the Appendage Sequencer to control two VCOs - one master and one slave. The Appendage Bend Voltage is also patched to the V/Oct input of the slave VCO. The Bend voltage is also patched into the Min/Max function of my mixer - bend voltages below 0V open a VCA that controls an LFO that is patched to the pitch control of the Sequencer, allowing the LFO to modulate the frequency of both VCOs.
The TFS voltage is used to open a VCA that controls the level of an LFO controlling filter cutoff - the farther apart two points of pressure are, the more the VCA is opened, allowing more modulation to the filter. The Appendage is in voltage mode, so that voltage is non-linear.
The Klee Sequencer is processing a one bit pattern, which is controlling a VCO and the resonant MS-20 clone filter, which provides a sequenced backing for the video."
electro percussion lab 2

"same instruments as the previous video "electro percusion lab" plus un-modded 808 kick, snare, and hihat clones from the BBoT.

for years I've daydreamed about how to translate compositional ideas into hardware algorithms... also daydreaming about Roland's engineering lab during the TR808 research phase... how many marvelous sounds did they leave on the shelf? They should have packaged them up and made the 808's evil twin.."
