CMOS Music I // 1-bit chiptunes w/o programming
Saturday, January 09, 2010 from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM (ET) Brooklyn, NY...
Learn how to make 1-bit chiptunes music without the hassle of computer programming. This is a musical introduction to basic electronic concepts through the use of CMOS digital logic chips. From a hand full of components you will create the world's simplest oscillator and 8 note musical rhythm sequencer. No soldering necessary, you'll take your project home on your very own solder-less breadboard!
Taught by Phillip Stearns aka Pixel Form. See some of his work at http://youtube.com/pixelform.
All NYC Resistor classes are for people 18-years and up. Sorry, minors."

Elektron machinedrum SPS 1 UW triggering boss SYB 5 bass synthesizer pedal
YouTube via helefthandedheroes
"Elektron Machinedrum SPS-1 UW GND-SN machine triggering BOSS SYB-5 bass synthesizer pedal. The GND-SN machine routed to an individual out to Boss SYB-5 to INP-EA machine for filtering.
Just realized that the first few minutes had that stupid delay on.
All other sounds are machinedrum GND-SN sine machines!
At the time of recording I was first time trying out the pedal, only discovering the possibilities.
The video is to show what kind of sounds you can get triggering the SYB-5 with a GND-SN and was put into an electronic context.
Not a musical statement.
The video was shot with a Nokia N95, the sound quality is far from amazing.

Gakken SX-150 sequenced via Novation BassStation
YouTube via thelefthandedheroes
"The Gakken SX-150 stylus gets the CV and GATE information from the ribbon-like slider pad. I just connected the Novation BassStation Rack CV and GATE out to the stylus and voilà! - have my MIDI controlled Gakken. The cheapest way to do this is to cut a patch cable in half, took the plastic bits off the wire coming from the tips of the jacks, roll them together and stick the Gakken's stylus into. You may notice that it only works if the BassStation's CV type set to '00' (Roland/Sequential/Arp) - because of the voltage and plug the Gakken SX's out to a mixer rather than using the built in speaker - this is needed as the ground.
I believe this works with other MIDI-to-CV converters too. This video is to show that it works, not a musical statement. Have fun!"
