"Andy Cousins and Dmitry Shklyar of Ocean Orbit have been rocking out parties for the last year with their indie/dance live sets. Their Nintendo influenced sounds are as original as their name. They’ve released an album last year and I can promise you that you will hear a lot about Ocean Orbit in the near future. They are technical wizards when it comes to hardware tweaking and if you see them play live, you’ll definitely see them rock out the original Nintendo Entertainment System! Come see them at the grand opening of Neon Tuesdays @ Tonic Room (2447 N. Halsted) on February 23! I’m proud to have them booked as our first live guest!"

YouTube via zibbybone "Not too many videos feturing this new classic synth, so I thought I whip one up. I normally don't mess around with modular synths and the strange noises they can make, but here's my lame attempt using the new patch panel Synthesizer Expander Module. I guess using the SEM in this fashion, it can be up to a 4 operator FM synth: self-oscillating filter as carrier, 2 traditional oscillators and LFO as modulators. I think the way I have it configured in most instances is OSC 2 modulating the resonant filter, OSC 1 modulating OSC 2 and LFO modulating pulse widths and such. I'm using my Roland Fantom X6 as MIDI cotroller with Kenton Pro 2 as MIDI to CV/Gate converter. I'm also using the Fantom's advanced arpeggiator and its built-in multi effects processors."
