"This Yamaha CS 60 is in perfect functional condition and comes complete with the travel case lid, an original stand and Yamaha carrying bag for the stand. The tolex is in nice shape with no evidence of brittleness or flaking common with 35 year old synths. The buckles, clasps, and edge protectors are still shiny as is the stand with no evidence of rust or pitting. All knobs and slider pots are static free and slide very freely. The ribbon controller is perfect- no bumpiness or ruptured springs underneath. The aftertouch is extremely responsive just like it was in 1977. Many CS 60/80s that are sold without stands have bottom damage to the tolex and grates. The bottom of this unit is in great shape as evidenced by the photo. Many CS 60s were organ donors for the older brother, the CS 80. This is not the case with this synth. It was very well cared for and maintained and is is perfect tune. It was never gigged. Consequently, it does not suffer from road rash...

Korg Monotribe in CV/gate mode (Demo)

Published on Feb 27, 2013 radiokoala·18 videos

"In this video, radiokoala -- among the first in the world maybe, -- explores sequencing monotribe with the CV/gate, a possibility added in the last 2.11 firmware.

However, instead of feeding the little metal box with yet one boring note pattern, the guy decides to take it one step further and sends monotribe output of his analogue oscillator Sputnik Dual Waveform Generator.

What actually happens is Osc 1 sends gate signal, and Osc 2 provides CV data. In other words, monotribe's internal VCO is frequency-modulated by DWG. (Which makes it sound more interesting, as you will hear.) Both CVs do not affect the drum track in any way, however a synth part is fully sequenced with a Sputnik oscillator.

Additionally, radiokoala not only jams with a patch he created, but also demonstrates how monotribe sounds with and without modulation via CV. Overall man's opinion is, addition of a CV/gate does really breathe a new life to monotribe -- this mode really ain't nothing other but a perennial spring of fun!"

Delptronics LDB-1 + TR-606 + TR-808

Published on Feb 27, 2013

"This is a side by side comparison of the same patterns playing on a Delptronics LDB-1, a Roland TR-606, and a Roland TR-808. All three use analog circuitry (no samples). The 606 circuitry is a simpler version of the 808, and the LDB-1 is simpler still. They all sound great, just a little different. Of course the prices are different too - a new LDB-1 is $240, a used 606 is $450 or more, and a used 808 is around $3,400 (and rising).

No effects were used. The volumes of each instrument were turned all the way up, except the 808 rim shot which is really loud at full volume. The LDB-1 and TR-606 do not have tuning per instrument. On the 808, the tuning of each instrument was set in the middle, except for the kick, which was set as low as it goes - because that's where everyone sets it. :)
