"Demo of the new Mastertone bank for the SonicProjects OP-X PRO-II virtual analog Oberheim VSTi synth plugin. No external effects or any other treatments have been involved. All sounds are coming directly from OP-X PRO-II.

The bank offers 64 excellent presets which all have a warm and full character. The patches are a pleasure to play and too perfectly fit in any mix. The sounds have been modelled after the following synths:

- Oberheim OB-Xa
- Oberheim OB-8
- Oberheim Xpander
- Oberheim Matrix-12
- Roland Jupiter-6
- Roland Jupiter-8
- Moog Minimoog
- Crumar BIT99

The bank can be downloaded here:

$5 Synth Art From the Creator of The Packrat

David Lovelace of umop.com and creator of The Packrat is doing something really cool.  He came up with the idea of creating one off pieces of art on a bar napkin for 5 bucks!   The way it works is you Paypal $5 to dave at fark dot com with a description of what you want, and he comes up with the drawing.  That's right, you can have him create you your own personal, one of a kind bit of art for $5 on a napkin.  You can find some of what has come in so far on his Facebook page here.  BTW, it doesn't have to be a synth as you'll see in his other creations, but if you do get one with a synth, send it in!  I'll post it!

Pictured here:
"George C Mattson [Mattson Mini Modular] doubled down on his investment to get a more involved Bar Napkin Drawing of my Packrat character standing near his prized modular synthesizer. Would you like me to draw something for you? Paypal $5 to dave at fark dot com!"

BTW, people that have been following MATRIXSYNTH should immediately recognize the giant Mattson EML. See the label below if you haven't seen it in the flesh.

"Just a quick-and-dirty demo of the Yamaha SK-15 Synthesizer. Please excuse my poor playing skills, I was just making stuff up to show off the various sounds the machine is capable of making. This particular machine I stripped down and nearly completely rebuilt, making more than a few changes in the audio pathway."

PocketPiano shield for the arduino and NastyBass sketch

Uploaded on May 28, 2008 Johan Larsby·85 videos

"A PocketPiano from http://www.critterandguitari.com/
and one Arduino. The first one soldered together from the kit I got it in then it's connected to the Arduino which is loaded with a small program I wrote. The program is creates a square pulse whose pulsewidth can be modulated by one of the knobs. Another of the knobs are controlling the very simple glide algorithm.

Much fun to be had!

Note the following auction does not mention Critter & Guitari, but the Pocket Piano kit below takes you to a page with the second video above.  I discovered the top video searching for more info.  I'm curious how this compares to the final released and enclosed Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano we are all familiar with.  Note the number of button keys are different.

The Arduino Pocket Piano got a mention back in May of 2008.

"This is the original Pocket Piano Kit fully assembled. This is an open source stand alone synthesizer, that you program with the Arduino software That can be obtained here..."

Here is more info:
Pocket Piano kit – This is a board for making the Arduino into a portable stand alone music synthesizer. It plugs directly into the Arduino board and provides 25 multiplexed keys (2 full octaves), 4 pots, status LED, reset switch, digital to analog converter IC, and a RCA audio jack. The Arduino board with its powerful AVR processor is more than adequate for a wide range of sound synthesis techniques. We have experimented with simple additive / wave-table synthesis, frequency modulation, ring modulation, sampling, polyphony, various arpeggiators. The whole thing can be powered over the Arduino’s USB port for convenient experimenting. Arduino Diecimila is included. The board is designed to mount easily to 1/8″ panel material, and 1/2″ round keys can be made out of wood or plastic. Features include -

· 25 keys and multiplexer circuitry
· 4 potentiometers, 1 controls output level
· Microchip MCP4921 12 bit SPI DAC
· Passive low pass output filter"

Vintage PAiA Lap ORGAN / SYNTHESIZER keyboard

via the seller/listing: "vintage lap organ / synthesizer / keyboard. This is from an estate clean out so little is know about it's history. There is no brand name I can find on it anywhere, but from fellow ebayers...most likely this is made by PAiA. It is in very good condition cosmetically, there is some yellowing of the keys but the case is in good shape, all latches work, the top folds up or can also be taken off. The inside looks very clean, I plugged it in but there is no speaker built into it so I have no idea if it works. There is no bulb in the "Power On" light so Im not sure if it is getting power or not. Im not sure what type of amp or speaker you plug it into because I dont see any input jacks, only the 3 small ones on the control panel. I do some some calculations written in pencil on the inside. This is being sold as-is."
