Pursuing The Dream
Uploaded on Sep 6, 2011 gregaeYT·2 videos
Some synth spotting with gregaeYT
"Three short audio sketches inspired by the music by by Tangerine Dream - part of a forthcoming live performance at the National Electronics Museum in Linthicum, Maryland, USA on 24 March, 2012.
"Pursuing The Dream" is for Tangerine Dream fans everywhere - the dream is alive!"
Some additional details from Greg:
"Viewing Suit & Tie Guy’s recent post on the deconstruction of Tangerine Dream’s 'Love On a Real Train' got me thinking about my own attempt at this song last year. That song was done as a part of a live performance called 'Pursuing the Dream' held on March 24, 2012, at the National Electronics Museum in Linthicum, Maryland, USA:
The museum performance was loosely based on a video of TanDream sketches that was created some six months prior. Although there’s no audio from the museum show, the video of the original sketches can still be viewed on YouTube
All of the instruments that appear in the video were used in the recording, although they show up in a somewhat random order. For anyone interested in the specifics, I didn’t document the instruments that were used, but I do recall the following:
For ‘Stratosphere’, a Kurzweil K2500 and Voyager provided the lead sounds. I believe the sequence was also done with the Voyager.
For ‘Purple Waves’, a Yamaha FS1R module played the underlying Harp sequence, while a Yahama CS15 provided the lead, a Kurzweil PC3 produced the fretless bass, and a Roland V-Synth (with a D-50 card) provided a bit of ornamentation.
Finally, for ‘Love On a Real Train’, a Doepfer Dark Energy module (processed through a E-H Small Stone Phaser) played the sequence from a Future Retro Mobius sequencer, while the PC3 and Korg Karma produced the various bass, pad and electric piano sounds.
Other instruments, including the Prophet 08 and Creamware Prodyssey ASB, were also pressed into service at various points."

"The Filtare SEIII is a multimode, state-variable voltage-controlled filter that gives you low-pass, band-pass and high-pass outputs which are all simultaneously available. It also includes a notch output which allows you to change the balance between low-pass and high-pass. The SEIII uses discrete components but is based on SSM2040 architechture, giving you a very musical sounding filter. There are CV inputs for frequency, resonance and notch balance. The 1 V/O CV input for frequency can be used to have the VCF follow what you're playing on the keyboard or just crank up the resonance and use it to play sine-waves.
Specifications:
•Modes: LP, BP, HP
•All modes are 4-Pole (24dB/Octave)
•Notch: Change balance between LP and HP (total drop with balance at center is 3.4dB)
•Power supply: +/- 12 VDC (reverse-polarity protected!)
•Power draw: 80ma / 80ma
•Width: 8HP
•Depth: 1.38in / 35mm
Inputs:
•CV (for frequency control): 1V/O fixed
•CV (for frequency control): Adjustable
•CV (for resonance)
•CV (for notch balance)
•Audio
Outputs:
•Low-Pass
•Band-Pass
•High-Pass
•Notch
Controls:
•Frequency
•Resonance
•CV Level (frequency)
•Notch Balance
•Volts / Octave Adjust for 1 V/O input (trim pot on back)
Includes:
•Filtare SEIII Module
•Doepfer-style Power Cable
•(4) M3 x 6mm Rack Screws w/ Nylon Washers"
