8 Days Left Vote for The Bleep Drum for littleBits

Published on Sep 23, 2014 Bleep Labs

Details: http://littlebits.cc/bitlab/bits/the-bleep-drum

Only 8 days left. Voting does not require anything but clicking on the Vote button, so do it!!!

On a related note, littleBits have opened up bitLab where users, prototypers, and designers can submit their idea for what they should manufacture next. If the module gets enough votes from the community, they review it, and in many cases will manufacture it.

Basic Synthesis 6 at Control Voltage Portland This Saturday

"The Basic Synthesis series at Control Voltage is a set of recurring casual presentations, each an hour in length with ample time for questions, meant to de-mystify the synthesizer piece by piece using the modular synth.

Session Six is all about Control with the help of keyboards, touch-capacitance modules, rotary elements, pressure sensors, motion and infrared devices.

Presented by Joseph Pailo.

korg Z1 virtual analog synthesizer sounds

Published on Oct 23, 2014 bulishearth

"korg Z1 virtual analog synthesizer sounds..........bulis hearth

The Korg Z1 is a physical modelling sound synthesiser released in 1997. Touted as a polyphonic Prophecy, the Z1 implements 13 synthesis types, all derived from the original OASYS synthesizer

1 Standard Oscillator
2 Comb Filter
3 VPM (Variable Phase Modulation)
4 Ring Modulation
5 Cross Modulation
6 Oscillator Sync
7 Organ Model
8 Resonance
9 Electric Piano Model
10 Brass Model
11 Reed/Wind Model
12 Plucked String Model
13 Bowed String Mode

The MOSS system, as implemented on the Z1, offered 13 different synthesis algorithms in the form of programmable oscillators. The various synthesis algorithms employed various synthesis techniques such as physical modeling synthesis, analog modeling synthesis, and Korg's own VPM synthesis. Some of the various synthesis algorithms can be combined together to create a vast range of sound.

Standard Oscillator
A standard virtual analog oscillator, this oscillator generates the standard waveforms typically used by an analog synthesizer such as sawtooth waveforms, pulse waveforms, and triangle waveforms. Wave shaping is available to add various harmonic characteristics to the generated sound.[4]

SonicLAB: New Korg Electribe preview w. James Pullen AKA Mista Bishi

Published on Oct 23, 2014 sonicstate

"We got a sneak preview at BPM of the brand new Korg Electribe, although perhaps not in the ideal environment. So we jumped at the chance to have a visit from Ian at Korg UK and James (aka Mista Bishi) to give us a more detailed look at the new unit.

With a King Korg derived synth engine the Electribe features a 24 voice synth engine for 16 parts, each part also has an insert effect and then there’s a final Master Effect buss too.

Plenty of filter types and a revamped effect processor gives the Electribe a full ambient sound, at least in the hands of Mista Bishi.

If you want to hear a more complete version of the track James played portions of, here’s a link to a vocal version.

"Vespers courses: http://vespers.ca/shop
In this tutorial video, Vespers does a review of the new XFer Records Serum Synth by Steve Duda, including many of it's highlights and pro tips for sound design. You'll learn how to import audio to make your own wavetables, how to draw and morph between frames in the visual editor, and how to apply warping to bend the wavetable readout. You'll see the unison engine, some of the best filter types, the sub oscillator, modulation routings, and macros. We'll unleash the beast and get deep into Serum's inner workings!"
