Broken Polivoks
Published on Nov 23, 2014 The Outsider
"Well... I was planning to use the beast in a show I played a few weeks ago (Nov 8, 2014) but 5 days prior it up and shat itself. As you can see/hear, there is a very, very faint, constant hum, and when the EGs are triggered the same hum gets louder. The hum doesn't change in pitch (i.e., all keys trigger the same pitched hum). The VCOs, Modulation and Mixer sections seem to be working fine. The filter is a bit different from before though. The bandpass doesn't seem to really change all that much across the range of the knob, whereas before it was definitely working properly. Also, The cutoff knob affects the hum when turned down almost to the off position. I've replaced all the capacitors already. I've also re-socketed and replaced over half the ICs (140ud8b and 140ud8a so far). I have no idea what is wrong with it... :( :( :("
If anyone has any ideas, feel free to comment.

Korg MiniPops Drum & a Buchla 208
Published on Nov 22, 2014 DJjondent
"I love my old drums as much as my new ones.
The tones coming from this wonderful machine sounds so warm.
The Mini Pops doesn't have a trigger out so a Buchla envelope follower was used. A Buchla 230 module.

SNAZZY FX:Tracer City Env Follower...with piezo pickup
Published on Nov 22, 2014 snazelle
"All sounds are created by the "pulse" of the piezo pickup ( monoprice guitar pickup -$4.00) hitting the Snazzy FX Tracer City's adjustable envelope follower...which causes the resonant filter to move..making "synthy" or percussive sounds( with a lot of nice low end bass) The env follower is adjustable for up or down cutoff as well as lag and later in the video the other tracer cv sources are brought in as well...this all is going through a delay pedal. The tracer city is long out of production ( soon passing it's torch to the Tidal Wave ) but it's still a fun box. with little more than a can or stick to bang out, it can single handedly provide lots of sound exploration."

"VCOb Saw and Pulse going into the dual SeM20. CV from the dlADSR and the 4ms PEG.
sorry for the audio/video quality. a new camera is at the top of my to do list. and it's kind of awkward to demo modules without faceplates."
