There are only four days remaining on Anatal Electronics X-Bay Kickstarter campaign. Hardware starts at the $12/€10 level. If you are interested, you might want to support them now.
Here's what you get at the $12/€10 level:
"MINI board only, 1 chip for free
Yes it is true for only 10 euro you can have a 16x16 system. Analog devices, the chip manufacturer, will supply one chip per person for free. You have to contact them and request a sample of the chip here. The chip can be plugged into the socket on the board. No soldering required. Arduino Nano and +-12v power supply not included.
EU backers VAT is included in shipping cost, no extra bills from local authorities.
Rest of the world backers VAT/sales tax and customs will be billed by local authorities, expect extra costs. Usually mainly VAT/sales tax."
"One of the best parts about being in this industry and going to trade shows is meeting the amazing people that use our products to make music. Everyone takes a different approach to using what we create and when we get to experience them making music in the flesh it's always incredibly exciting and inspiring.
Pedro is no exception to that truth. In fact, he pushes the boundaries on what we knew possible with a only a couple eurorack modules. A wind player by trade, you can hear his work on films like Wonder Woman, Passion of the Christ, Kung Fu Panda, and many more as well as see him live on tour with the Hans Zimmer live production.
He has over 100 different wind instruments (many of which he fashioned by hand) and is also a bit of an electronics nerd. His interest in electronics and synthesis led him to the Lyricon wind synthesizer, a vintage analogue piece of gear that is controlled by a proprietary controller. This controller is much like a common MIDI wind controller, only it produces Control Voltage instead of MIDI information. He worked with a friend to produce an interface for this controller to interact with his modular synth. He puts that together with the Synchrodyne, routes different controls to parameters on the module, and creates tones and timbres we've never heard...
He hit us up when he came through for his most recent Denver performance with Hans Zimmer and wanted to show us what he was doing with the Synchrodyne. We set up some cameras, Alex put together a quick patch, and the two jammed.
Be sure to watch till the end as Pedro explains the patch right around 13:00
This performance was recorded in one continuous take and marks the very first time Pedro and Alex ever played music with one another. No practice, no plans, just two humans and a couple machines."
"In which we document the insanity that ensues as friend of Noise Engineering @Baseck takes Manis Iteritas out for a test drive. Shout out to Malekko Voltage Block and Varigate 8+ for playing well, as always, with Noise Engineering.
Manis Iteritas will be released December 15, 2017. Preorders available now at your favorite modular retailer."
"1970's Paia Gnome micro synth, not fully functional but it works, needs a little tune up, opened it up and found a broken component, should be an easy fix."
"ULTRA RARE Seiko keyboard synthesizer! Its almost impossible to find these, let alone find one with all 3 components with the power supply. They only come along once every few years.... and then in pieces and/or not working!
When plugged in the keyboard springs to life and plays fine. There are a ton of switches, knobs, etc. some of which respond, others seem to do nothing.... but that could well be the operator just needs to know how to set up and work this sophisticated instrument... and I admit I dont!
The DS-310 lights up initially then goes dark, but when you push a button lights up again. Again this could be how its supposed to work?
The DS-320 lights up upon power and seems to respond as it should. Note: the battery holder inside the case has cracked but could be replaced. The exterior case is fine with no issues."
