"The NTH is an open source music synthesizer featuring instant fun, awesome sound, and a hackable design. The NTH Music Synthesizer is the first product from NTHSynth. It is fun to use, sonically-rich, and hackable by design.
The NTH is designed so that a complete beginner can quickly craft incredibly varied timbres. For the synth veteran, the NTH offers relief from layered menus and obscured functions. The NTH puts a smile on the face of musicians and non-musicians, synth geeks and synth novices, children and adults alike.

It has a PIC microcontroller and 8-bit DAC to create a dual-pitch oscillator with modulation by waveform, amplitude envelope, detuning, and glissando, and a gritty analog low-pass filter, integrated step sequencer, and simple, intuitive controls. Your initial experimentation will quickly reveal an astonishing range of output: from sweet and sublime to raw, thrashing, and retro sounds.

NTH Music Synthesizer is hackable by desing, so you can make easy modifications. It have Audio Output, ICSP port for connection to the NTH’s PIC16F microcontroller, and MIDI features (In/Out). It works with a 9V battery."

Great Synth Mysteries: The Story of Jexus - Trailer

Published on Jan 8, 2019 Noir Et Blanc Vie

"***FYI: All background music was provided to me by Jexus personally, bless him.***

Hey guys, so this is the trailer for a 2 part series of Great Synth Mysteries. I'll be completing the editing sooner than later, but for now just know this was long time in the making and was done in collaboration with Jexus. Some of us like myself miss him as he was a big inspiration. Stay patient as these are two of my longest videos to date. Thank you."

---

I'm looking forward to this one. If you don't know who Jexus aka WC Olo Garb is, click here, scroll and enjoy. You'll find his video demos of synths and tons of references to him. The references are a reflection of his influence. Don't forget to click NEXT when you get to the bottom of the page.

P.S. The first post to feature Jexus was this one back in 2006. :)

P.P.S. I just updated the video sizes for all previous posts featuring Jexus. If you clicked through and saw the older smaller video embeds, you can now go back and see them "full" size.

Elektronika EM 04 Vintage Soviet analog synthesizer USSR

Published on Jan 8, 2019

"Elektronika EM-04. There is a one master oscillator in the instrument. Due to this oscillator a possibility of instrument's detuning in the process of operation is eliminated. This generator shifts a pitch of the instrument on an octave, "slalom-effect" and refines the tuning +/- 1/4. Because of split of the manual into 2 sections, the volume of each part may be adjusted."
