1989 QuickShot Music Wiz Keyboard Tape Player

"QuickShot Music Wiz keyboard tape player mod# QS-2080. 1989 Spectravideo International Ltd.
Powers on and works, though the tape sounds a bit warbly (like a tape player from 1989). Missing one of the slider knobs.
Beats are very basic blip-blip, and the "piano" is a somewhat vibrato (maybe squarewave-ish) mono-sound. It has an input for an external mic."

Repair of the Soundmaster STIX ST-305 analogue drum machine

Re-Published on Feb 5, 2020 Mindburner
"This little analogue drum machine was realised by the Italian company Soundmaster in the early 80's
This example was purchased on eBay for around £25 in dodgy condition and operation unknown.
Bodges galore and lack of a service schematic make repairing this machine a bit of a nightmare.
I think the bodges are factory fitted as they use the same kind of enameled resistor as the main PCB.
Part 1 of a 2 part series
sorry about my plosive popping on the commentary.
Also the TA5558 in not a timer, rather a dual op amp
music: Crystalline Stricture, Harbour, No Time, Secret Remix"

Live Techno Eurorack Modular Synthesizer | Sworn64

"Live Eurorack Modular Techno Synthesizer | Sworn64
This is my first patch with the WMD Crater kick drum module and MSCL compressor. The bassline is going through the MSCL with the kick in the sidechain input. The bass is a Roland 512 oscillator through a System 80 860 Filter (The smaller version of the JOVE filter). Intellijel Dual ADSR is controlling the filter and the VCA output which is an Intellijel Quad VCA. Snare Drum is the Hexinverter Mutant Snare. The lead synth is the Noise Engineering Manis Iteritas with various voltages sources mixed t an Intellijel Scales quantizer to sequence pitch. The voltage sources are a clocked Mutable Instruments Marbles, a stepped random from a Make Noise Wogglebug (also clocked) and a cycling Make Noise Maths. These are all being mixed through an Intellijel Triatt. Noise Engineering Lapsus Os is used to perform the range of pitch to the Manis Iteritas via the Wogglebug’s External input. Wintermodular Eloquencer is the main sequencer and I’m using the EME expander for performance of kick and snare drum fills and mutes. The whole mix is sent through a WMD Overseer filter. The Intellijel Plannar is used to perform the filter cutoff as well as mix in some white noise from the Steady State Fate Quantum Rainbow. Mix is through a WMD Performance mixer with the Halls of Valhalla reverb on the Tip Top Audio Z-DSP and a Make Noise Mimeophon for Delay effects. The bassline is also going through the 4ms DLD for some stereo delay. The atmospheric background synth is the Mutable Instruments Plaits through a Strymon Engineering Magneto. Xaoc Devices Batumi is modulating lots of things. I am tweaking some random samples from the 4ms STS that have a really short loop on them to create some interesting sound effects here and there.
The LED lightbar is a Strange Electronic Lightstorm, a eurorack module that controls the LED bar via incoming CV. Thanks to Strange Electronic for providing the prototype arms to hold the lightbar above my modular so it lights up all of the gear. It looks awesome!"
Meet the Awesome Gecho Loopsynth
Published on Feb 5, 2020 Olivier Ozoux
"One of the 3 music boxes that were waiting under the tree this year, 'The Awesome Gecho Loopsynth' from Gechologic is probably one of the most wonderfully bizarre sound processing devices I've ever owned. I'm still completely sure how it works, but I hope you'll enjoy this little introduction as much as I did making it."
一念而就 / one take, not an end

"A moment seized without decoration, and a story to extend the moment.
Rotary Tetrax is based on Ciat-Lonbarde Tetrax. 360º potentiometers enable new gestures, patch bay layout accepts banana shorting bars. With built-in reverb.
Tetrax has Harmonic Locking behavior with audio at “FM Input”, which works great with unlimited single direction rotations. I’ve embedded a Teensy 3.6 for 2 channels of audio to voice 1/3, tuned 660Hz / 880Hz for this track, with symmetry control over variable shape triangle waveform.
If you want to mod your Tetrax / Sidrax for droning, the potentiometer mod schematic is here : https://www.instagram.com/p/B8L9cD5Hi6_/

SDS Digital Melisma Progression Pause
Published on Feb 4, 2020 freshnelly
"This video, which was going to be the last of a tutorial nature for the Melisma module, covers Progressions and pauses. Pauses turn a simple progression sequence into a more complex iteration based on rules of pause symbols inserted into the progression steps.
This video was supposed to also cover progression reset methods but it would have made this video too long so that will be the next (and final) tutorial!"

Analogue Solutions TBX-303 Trans Bass Xpress

"Analogue Solutions TBX 303 Synth Bassline TB Clone XOXBox X0X Trans Bass Xpress! This is a 303 clone (no sequencer) that also has some analog FM cross modulation and added fx features. Other than the added parts it's the same identical circuitry to the Roland tb 303 without the sequencer. The switch on the back to go from square to saw has broken off, and needs replaced. It's an easy fix, and you can still use it by switching it with a pen or something, and it doesn't affect the unit in any other way as far as I know."
