"The K5000 was Kawai's top of the line music workstation digital synthesizer when it was released back in 1996. It's a bold and elegantly designed synth with a large LCD display, realtime controls and incredible sounds! The look and functionality is rivals the competition from the time...the Korg and Kurzweil .

The K5000S (pictured above) adds 12 dedicated knobs for hands-on control of filter, LFO and envelope parameters. There are 4 user-definable knobs and 2 assignable switches. The K5000S also has a 40-pattern arpeggiator on-board with 8 user-definable patterns too! K5000's have been used by Kraftwerk."

"If you are reading this the chances are that you know exactly what this keyboard is all about, but essentially this is 2 DX7s in a box with a bigger keyboard. I still have the manual and a couple of data cartridges including the DX7 master that has 'master group' + 'keyboard & plucked group'. The other cartridge is a 3rd party product and full of FM sounds from the era. The real joy of this board is that you can double the sounds, slightly detune one bank and the whole thing sounds enormous . For me this is the pick of the DX range."

"OP-Z Ambient soundscape #2 Winter calmness. Op-z is sequencing Labs, by Spitfire audio via midi. The sound is called lap steel resonance. I use a few chords and the random effect on some steps to create this soundscape. Sequence programmed on the chord track. Piano played randomly afterwards in Logic (on my computer keyboard). Effects: Internal reverb and Valhalla delay. Hope you like this."
