KAWAI POP SYNTH SOUND MODULE - PHm | Can You Make a 80s Hit Song With Only a Dirt Cheap Synth?

video upload by Espen Kraft

"Is it possible to make catchy retro synthpop music with only a cheap synth module from the late 80s? Does gear really matters if the song is strong enough to begin with? You decide!

The Kawai PHm 'the pop module' from 1989. A non-GM module of the PH50. 200 presets which sounds like down-sampled versions of the Kawai K1 sounds.

I find this module highly capable of making gritty, crunchy and beautiful sounds and with a bit of (lots actually) compression, EQ, reverb and arranging I think this sounds perfect for this song. I wouldn't want to change out one single sound."

I somehow missed this one; spotted it in the following listing:

"If your looking at this then you probably know what it is and what it can do but just incase , this is a Roland Juno 106 with speakers and a different colour way. The Components, Circuitry and amazing sound with that classic Chorus effect are all exactly the same as a 106, if anything these are now slightly rarer .

Just back from a full professional service, all in excellent working order and sounding great. This has been lovingly maintained in a smoke free studio, never gigged or travelled."

NISSIN C-16 CUP NOODLE Digital Synthesizer Keytar (Casio SK-1) & Vongon Ultrasheer Reverb

video upload by Band Spectra

"Recently bought the NISSIN C-16 CUP NOODLE Digital Synthesizer Keytar (which is basically a special edition Casio SK-1) for my 3 year-old. A quick jam running it through the glorious Vongon Ultrasheer reverb & vibrato pedal whilst he is at nursery.

Piano setting on the Cup Noodle (for lead)
Brass Ensemble with portamento (for drone)
Bright Delay on the Ultrasheer with random vibrator giving the tape wobble.
Slight Valhalla delay added post."

Live Modular Synthesizer Techno Performance 2021: Jay Shore - With Time to Spare

video upload by DublawMusic

"Jay Shore showcasing a live performance of a new techno track "with time to spare." Using his Eurorack Modular Synthesizer, Jordan (a.k.a. Jay Shore) uses modules from Mutable Instruments, Erica Synths, Make Noise, Intellijel and more to create his sounds. Whilst he does have two seperate sequencers in his case, in this instance all the sequencing is coming directly from the Arturia Beatstep Pro."
