Astrometrics | Making UFO's, Alien Transmissions and Landscapes

video upload by Cinematic Laboratory

"Modulars only for bleeps and bloops? Nah. But yes, they're wonderful
machines to do just that. So in this video I'll explore some techniques and examples to make your own Sci-Fi sounds. I am using MakeNoise modules in this video, but many of the examples can be done on any system with at least a VCO, function generator, filter and VCA (and FX). So go float yourself!"

The Transformative Magic of Effects ft. GFI System

video upload by Red Means Recording

"Let's check out how cool it is to run normal boring synthesizer sounds into lush stereo effects. We'll use the GFI System Synesthesia dual modulator and Specular Tempus reverb pedals on the Arturia Microfreak and transform basic sounds into something much, much cooler."

JUPITER-X/Xm O.S. 3.0 with NEW Sound Engine!!!

video upload by gattobus

"Quick demo of the new native sound engine that is available exclusively for Jupiter-X/Xm in O.S. 3.0 update. In this video I'm playing some of the factory scenes that I created exclusively for this amazing instrument.

Built on the classic JUPITER heritage, vintage analog sound has been modernized with new capabilities and creative options.

4 Oscillators with new waveforms, 2 LFOs, 5 Envelopes, Double XMod and Sync options, etc... A new iArpeggio is introduced, with new patterns and PROBABILITY styles.

O.S. 3.0 also doubles internal memory for user scenes and tones!

Update notes:

[ Ver.3.00 ] APR 2022

Please refer to the "JUPITER-X Owner's Manual Ver. 3.0 and later" and "JUPITER-X Reference Manual Ver. 3.0 and later" for detailed information in the [ Owner's Manuals ].

Additional Functions

The model "JUPITER-X" has been newly provided as a preloaded model.

The model "JUPITER-X" is a new model that takes the model "JUPITER-8" as its motif and is designed with the aim of achieving the ideal analog synthesizer configuration. Through such moves as adoption of four oscillators, seven types of waveform selection, implementation of oscillator pan and oscillator delay, adoption of a variety of velocity sense functions, and more, this provides new vintage synth expressiveness that transcends the boundaries of vintage synths.

The functionality of I-ARPEGGIO has been extended.

I-ARP TYPE setting values have been increased from 55 to 65 (10 more) and I-ARP RHYTHM setting values have been increased from 44 to 65 (21 more).

Mode switching has been added to enable easy switching of simple arpeggios and step sequencers for each individual part.

It is now possible to change styles and variations for each individual part by using I-ARP and the ARP mode.

A Probability function has been added. This makes it possible to assign a probability to the sound production of each note, and also enables changing its extent through interlinking with I-ARPEGGIO.

New preset sound content has been added (scenes and tones).

The number of scenes and the number of user tones have both been increased from 256 to 512.

Functionality Improvement

Various improvements to the user interface have been made.

When setting parameter values, a value list can now be displayed by pressing the [ ENTER ] button.

The structure of the view displayed when the [ MENU ] button is pressed has been reorganized.

The naming screens for scenes, tones, and the like have been improved.

The order of Z-Core Tone parameters has been reorganized.

Bug Fixes

The following bugs were fixed.

Minor bugs.

Behringer's Synth Building Platform & New DX7 FM Synth In the Works?

The following was shared by Behringer. Sounds like modeling technology. Note the 6-Op FM algorhythm on the screen. Classic DX7.

"Some days ago we posted the image of our new synth platform. And now the baby has come alive:-) Nothing is more exciting for engineers to design a product over several months, receive the first prototype and fire it up. As you can see our platform is working perfectly and the engineers are already writing firmware for the next synths.

This will be the beginning of a super exciting series of hybrid synths, so powerful that it can run the most complex algorithms as well as several synths in parallel. The key bed here is designed around our proprietary capacitive sense technology, that is much more sensitive and playable than commercially available technology. This is one of the many reasons why we’re so excited about these innovative platforms and building blocks, as they form the foundation for our new generation of disruptive synthesis products. Perhaps in the future we can write firmware that allows you to customize these synths to your preferences.

We use very sophisticated simulation tools, that allow us to test the complete system in a virtual environment, way before the actual hardware is built. This is called “Digital Twin” engineering and we have heavily invested in this technology - all with the purpose to improve the design quality, speed up time to market and save cost. You’ll find similar technology in the aeronautics and automotive industry and our key technology partner is Siemens. “Digital Twin” simulation includes functional and mechanical, temperature, EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compliance) and Safety performance, as well as BOM (Bill Of Material) cost management. This whole process has increased efficiency of up to 600% for all our 350 global engineers."

Thanks for listening."

Serge Modular Patch Quick Reference

This one is in via supporting member ty hodson.

"I'm finally in the process of mining the notes and patch suggestions from various sources, but mostly from the old Yahoo! Serge group and later the (still sorely missed) Quad Slope group. The biggest chunk of those old notes was kindly provided to me by cebec, for which I'm grateful.

I started a spreadsheet to make it easy to quickly look up various patches. My aim was (is) to keep it as concise as possible in order to quickly find the info for patching up a particular function."

You can find the full post on ty's website, Serge Modular Synthesizer Info.
