"This is the very first version of the classic Prophet-5 synthesizer.
There were reportedly less than 200 of these rev 1 Prophet-5s made, and some if not all of them were made in Dave Smith's garage. How many are working perfectly and a real pleasure to play today, like this one now is, after we paid our tech for around 100 hours of highly skilled vintage synth tech labor plus parts?
We bought this item from a customer who said it was working fine. We had a feeling it wasn't, because they never are. And we were right. The entire process of sorting out its tricky problems and rebuilding it to our high standards to work like new again (or better!) took around 100 hours. The resulting instrument is most likely the best functioning, feeling and sounding example of its kind anywhere. At this point, we have so much time and money invested in it that we're only going to sell it if we can get a small fortune for it. If you're just looking for any prophet-5, search our website for others and get a rev 3 machine. If you're a serious Prophet-5 head and you want the best rev 1 money can buy, this is a rare opportunity to buy one that was slaved over, sparing no expense, to work perfectly. If it doesn’t sell, we're fine keeping it and enjoying it in our studio. This unit has a Kenton MIDI kit installed that was originally designed for a later revision p5."

"This Prophecy started life as a loaner to the Tonight Show. I asked a friend who worked for Korg if he could find one, and I ended up with the one that was not getting used on the Tonight Show set."

The legend of BRENSO’s pulse-width modulation
video upload by Frap Tools
"PWM is a huge part of everyday electronics, but it is also a classic synth sound, to the point it reached a cult (if not meme) status.
A Eurorack oscillator like BRENSO wouldn't have been completed without a PWM section, and today we're exploring it in detail. It might not be the most obvious feature, since it is nestled into the timbre modulation section, but it is capable of wild timbers.

04:37 Modulating the comparator threshold to change the pulse width.
05:04 What are the harmonics of a pulse wave?
06:09 How to fake more oscillators through PWM.

Pulse-Width Modulation and Sync with BRENSO | East Coast Sounds 1 | Frap Ideas
video upload by Frap Tools
"A recent article on @PerfectCircuit’s blog inspired this exploration beyond the label of "West Coast" synthesis. We thus focused on two techniques for the BRENSO oscillator that go beyond the classic complex oscillator's palette: PWM and sync."

Patch Tuesday | 16-Step Drum Sequencer | Route 4, Step 8, Compare 2
video upload by Joranalogue Audio Design
"Welcome back to Patch Tuesday! This week, Boris shows us how to create a 16-step drum sequencer using Step 8, Compare 2 and Route 4. Different sounds are triggered, according to the positions of Step 8's sliders.
Have fun patching!"
