"Here's a quick demo turning a simple tone into a more complex ambient drone. Although the SP-404 is mainly known for sample-based music, the new internal Sound Generator function opens up a new world of possibilities. Created live with no samples, using a Launchcontrol mapped to the SP-404 FX busses.

Bus 1: Chromatic Pitch Shift (to create a 3-note chord)
Bus 2: Cloud Delay (granular pitch shift. stereo widen and delay)
Bus 3: 303 Vinyl Sim (wow/flutter and saturation)
Bus 4: Super Filter (low-pass filter)"

Conceived with a clear focus on music, it comes with an internal sequencer and software synthesizer (-framework), MIDI and audio interfaces. You can build it yourself, download a version for Linux, Windows or Mac, or buy the official hardware, which is shown here. In this video, I show how to utilize Python to solve some day-to-day tasks like arpeggiators and keyboard splits and MIDI routing.
