Overwhelmed with SUPERBOOTH Posts?

If so, here are a few tips:

1. The News label will get you to the first post on new gear.

2. Use the Search box on the top right of the site to search for specific gear. For example Ziggy.

As for filtering out SUPERBOOTH posts, unfortunately there is no such filter. "-SUPERBOOTH" doesn't filter them out. You'll have to scroll down the page, and click next until you are caught up. But don't worry, the SUPERBOOTH rush usually only lasts for a few days. And remember, every single post here goes up by hand.

"Undertow from Ferry Island Modular is a two-dimensional wavetable VCO/LFO matrix for complex, spatial modulation, providing a powerful central nervous system for any modular system. With a 5 x 3 CV matrix, instead of a single VCO/LFO waveform, you get fifteen simultaneous outputs, each a unique position between two wavetable oscillators. Morph waveform and frequency across the horizontal axis with the mod generator across the vertical axis, taking you from clean to chaotic. No longer do you need to patch together disparate modulation sources in the hopes they can work together, the Undertow makes that a reality with so little effort it feels like cheating. Only for a moment though, as you start to unpeel the sonic onion of your modular system's potential with the Ferry Island Undertow as your sharpened steel.

Sequential Prophet 5 - Synth Plugins still can’t do this?

"There's something about the Sequential Prophet-5 that feels alive. The slight movement in the oscillators, the warmth in the chords, the way even simple patches seem to carry emotion without needing much processing.

Plugins have come so far and modern analog synthesizers have gone backwards without so much of their own character as they used to have.

I spent some time exploring softer pads, worn-out bass tones, drifting analog textures and a few more cinematic sounds in this session. Some patches lean into that classic late-70s / early-80s character, while others feel surprisingly modern.

It's easy to understand why the Prophet-5 became such an important synthesizer. A lot of newer synths can sound bigger or cleaner, but this has a character that sits differently in a mix.
