"This very good condition QY700 is an excellent sequencer that can still get the job done. It's certainly different than an MPC or other arranger device, but it's got some built in sounds that still kick some serious butt."

Tales From The Park |ambient synth looping outdoors with Korg Minilogue XD running on USB power pack

video upload by drone-in-the-woods

"I've finally got round to getting a USB power pack that's big enough for the Korg Minilogue XD, and the appropriate USB convertor to get the pd up to 9V.
This was a very rushed loop jam, all done in just over half an hour, and unfortunately it was necessary to use headphones as I was travelling light. My two video shots were both pretty poor, so I've used the better one and created a slideshow using some of the photos I've taken in Petworth Park over the last 15 years.
Despite all this, I got a good take featuring pads, arps and reverse loops :)

He Made a Complete Song Using ONLY a Roland D-50 Synthesizer

video upload by Elmar Mihm

"What can one Roland D-50 do?

For this track, I wanted to find out how far I could push one of the classic digital synthesizers of the 1980s — using only the Roland D-50, except Drums.

No software synths. No additional synthesizers. No layers from other instruments. Just the D-50.

The entire song was recorded using the Roland D-50, exploring its distinctive LA synthesis, presets, textures and the unique character that made this synthesizer such an important part of the late ’80s sound. No external FX or EQ.

The D-50 is often remembered for its atmospheric pads, digital textures and iconic presets — but there is much more hiding inside this instrument.

So the question is:

What can one D-50 really do?

If you’re into vintage synthesizers, classic Roland gear, 80s sounds and old-school electronic music, I hope you enjoy the track.

Yamaha RS7000 Melodic Jungle track

video upload by MIDERA

"Really haven't done much recently. Sorry... guess I'm just busy with life. My whole studio was torn apart and now I'm just trying to make it nicer. Working on my book. Doing summer stuff...

Used small amount of NI Raum for reverb, otherwise just internal FX for the RS7000.

Sadly, the drums seem mixed a bit loud, but since it was recorded L/R in one go, I can't separate them and I'm just not motivated to redo it right now."

Generative #ambient #synth patch: Juno 6 and DX 7 sounds mangled and driven by Shoal on DistingNT

video upload by voltryx

"A walkthrough of a slow-evolving generative ambient patch built around the Expert Sleepers Disting NT and the Shoal plug-in (https://github.com/ormermodular/shoal).

Shoal generates eight channels of notes and gates, which I route internally through CV-to-MIDI and send to an AMYboard running a mixture of Juno-6 and DX7-inspired synth voices. The audio then returns to the Disting NT for bitcrushing and Kirbinator-based mangling before passing through the Delay Magneto algorithm on the FX Aid.

This is only my first exploration of Shoal or perhaps just dipping my toes in. I look at its global scale and tempo settings, per-channel sequence lengths and evolution controls, plus the mute, density and note-range controls available from the main page.

I’m also using a small Python app I vibe-coded to assign built-in and custom AMYboard presets to different MIDI channels. Let me know in the comments if you’d like me to put it on GitHub.

Patch:
Disting NT → Shoal → CV-to-MIDI → AMYboard
AMYboard → Disting NT Bitcrusher/Kirbinator → FX Aid Delay Magneto → Mixer

M-Vave FM-1 | Guide for Patch Initialization and the Envelopes

video upload by MiyafujiP

"I've never owned a DX7, so for me, the envelopes on the FM-1 (based on the DX7 engine) were a little confusing at first. I researched about them and experimented a bit, and am sharing my findings in this video.

Also, sharing how to initialize a patch since that's also a function that's a little hidden.

Hope this helps somebody! =)"
