2hp - Kick (808, soft, hard, distorted, boooooom)

Published on Apr 24, 2018 DivKidVideo

"For the third video is my #2hpTuesdays series here is the 2hp Kick! So far we've had the Pluck and Verb which show off the great quality of the 2hp range so far. The kick continues with that level of quality with Kicks ranging from soft and raw 808 like booms and clicks through to more driven, transient heavy (this thing smacks!) and pitch tracked kick/bassline hybrids. There's even a little soft melodic pattern in the video, why not! :)

Noodling with Hermod the modular brain

Published on Apr 24, 2018 Molten Music Technology

"Not exactly a classic tune but I wanted to share my first bit of music making using the Squarp Instruments Hermod sequencer module. Takes a bit of time to work out and I've only begun unpacking the possibilities but it brings back a very musical approach to my Eurorack - not sure if that's what I want but I'm going with it. It also features the String Theory Solina Strings module from MakeSynthsNotWar which is ideally suited for Hermod as it needs a MIDI input. Erica Synths Graphic VCO, Black VCO and 2HP Pluck also had a major role. Drums from Pico Drums and 2HP HAT."

2hp - Pluck (Karplus Strong Plucked String Eurorack Voice)

Published on Apr 10, 2018 DivKidVideo

"It's immediately obvious within the first plucked note that the new 2hp Pluck sounds good. It's a physical modelling synth voice in a 2hp eurorack module. The module uses a karplus strong algorithm to model plucked strings. You can control the dampening which works like a tonal shift similar to what you'd get from adjusting the length of a string and also the decay which takes it from tight snappy transients through to sustained infinite harp like tones.

Once I go through the features and core sound I get into freezing the 4 polyphonic voices, sequencing 1 voice over 3 held voices, filtering and external processing to create new tones / movement and then using it as a percussion source and in a larger full track/patch.

This is also the start of a new series #2hpTuesdays where I'll be bringing you a video on the 2hp series of modules each Tuesday. Enjoy!"

2HP Pluck - a timeless beauty of a module

Published on Apr 7, 2018 Molten Music Technology

"I think my search for the perfect sound for my rack has ended. Wow! This is a stunning little module. This is my first play with the 2HP Pluck, a little physical modelling module. I put the Turing machine into the V/Oct input via the uScale Quantizer and fed some gates in from the Verona randomRHYTHM. I added some delay and reverb, and modulated the Decay knob a little bit. I guess this is why people like Rings so much :)"
