"Altair-231. It was made in USSR at Zhitomir factory "Estradin" in 1983. A monophonic synthesizer Estradin - 230 (plant "Elektroizmeritel" of Zhitomir) contains 4 main sources of sound - 3 tone generators and the source of noise. Such external sources as electroguitar and electroorgan can be connected to the instrument. The filter of lower frequencies is intended for changing harmonic compound of signals of audible frequency in self-excitation condition. This filter can be used as fifth source of sound. There is a possibility to control attack, release and sustain. One use such an interesting effect as sliding transition from one sound to another. There is a memory device in the synthesizer that saves sounding of tone as soon release time. There are some other devices in the instrument such as glissando, modulation mixer and filter controlled from the keyboard. Frequency range is from 1 to 20000 Hz One can use an internal generator "A" for tuning (440 Hz)

SOLARIS Estradin 314
via this auction
"rare soviet analog polyphonic synthesizer - Estradin 314 SOLARIS. It was manufacture on the same "Estradin" military radio plant in Zhitomir city where was produced power moog-type synths Altair-231, Estradin-230 in eighties. SOLARIS uses organ style drawbars to create the basic tone, and has a analog filtering as well. Inside it has 12 voice boards that correspond to each key in an octave, and then uses a divide down system to get to the other octaves. Because of this the sound of the oscillators are really thick and meaty. The filter is really extreme and sounds fantastic, as well the envelope is really punchy, so you get great synth stabs, sweeps and percussive organy sounds. If you use the envelope and filter sections carefully you can get great moogy leads out of it, warm organ sounds, flying ambient textures, in the high resisters it can sound like a string machine, or even a theremin if you crank the resonance. It has tons of character and can sounds really unique!
Estradin 314 Solaris CONTROL PANEL:
-Pitch bend
FILTER section: Envelope amount, Cutoff, Resonance, Attack, Sustain, Release.
REGISTERS section: Harmonics 1-5 (8",4",2", 2 2/3", 1").
VIBRATO section: Lfo speed, Lfo pitch amount, Lfo filter amount.
-Amplifier release
-Brilliance ( Filter blend )
-Tune
-Power On/Off
CONNECTIONS: output 1/4 jack, pedal 5-din input, power plug, fuse.
The supply voltage - 220-230V/50Hz. For use with 110/127V, a voltage converter is necessary."
