"Analogue Solutions Concussor Modules are the same physical size and use the same power connectors as Doepfer a100 modules. They will mount in Doepfer eurorack cases and are 100% compatible when patching.

The red stripe on the power ribbon is red line down if used with Doepfer cases.

Included is a eurorack power ribbon and eurorack screws. Analogue Solutions screws available upon request.

Width 6HP

The VCO 6HP is one of the newest offerings from Analogue Solutions. This slim VCO is designed to give you maximum raw analogue power without taking too much real estate in your case or rack. The range is divine and can go down enough to be used as a LFO.

Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs) in general

The VCO or signal generator, commonly found on most music synthesizers consist of an exponential amplifier, a resetable integrator and waveshaping circuitry. ‘Voltage Controlled Oscillator’ means an oscillator whose frequency can be controlled by an external voltage.

A VCO is responisble for the pitch of a sound and its basic timbre. Most VCOs will offer a variety of wave forms. Some VCOs offer the facility to alter the pulse width of a square wave either manually or with a voltage (pulse width modulation).

Controls In Detail

Tune
The VCO has a wide ranging tune control. Turning Tune alters the basic pitch of the oscillator.

Pulse Width
You can alter the pulse width (duty cycle) of the square wave. Turning this gives a sound similar to chorusing. In the centre position a square wave is produced.

Square Level
This sets the output volume of the square waveform output.

Sockets in Detail

CV in
This socket is the pitch CV control input and is used to control the pitch of the oscillator.

PW
This is a pulse width control CV input. Use a -12 to +12V voltage in this socket to alter the pulse width of the oscillator square wave.

Sawtooth Out

Update: demo by Starsky Carr posted here.

Ample can be as complex or as simple as you want it to be: We have given this synth a large and diverse number of controls, that alongside the patch sockets, will give even the best and most experienced synthesist endless possibilities.

We have presented the controls in a user-friendly and familiar synth layout that, together with this manual and other resources, enables even the new guy to get great sounds.

SYNTH – PERCUSSION – AUDIO PROCESSOR

"Ample is a compact analogue synthesizer. Analogue - as in really analogue. Aside from the MIDI chip (which has to be digital), everything else is totally analogue using real transistors and op-amps. There are no CPU-stabilised and quantised circuits, no DCOs, no digital LFOs and no digital EGs, as found on other so-called analogue synths. The circuitry is based on designs dating back to the mid-1970s. So Ample has a genuine old sound. Analogue Solutions Impulse Command Stereo Synthesizer Demo

Published on Apr 1, 2019 rezfilter

"Here's another (extended) demo of the Analogue Solutions Impulse Command synthesizer. This demo shows the extreme stereo capabilities of the synth, so headphones are required (naturally).

Yes, we're talking DUAL filters and the ability to modulate these across the stereo field in ferociously musical ways!

Impulse Command is a stereo analogue synth / sonic realiser. Perfect for melodic and percussion loops. Very easy (and fun!) to create modular style analogue loops. It’s a complete sound track all by itself!

It’s wrong to call it a synthesizer (in fact a new word needs to be invented) because then you get preconceived ideas about what it does. It’s a whole lot more than a synth. It’s also part drum synth, part pattern generator, part modular loop producer.

All its unique features plus the 2 independent LPFs give this machine the ability to produce stereo loops that sound like multiple synths playing at once."

Analogue Solutions Impulse Command Synthesizer Details

Published on Mar 31, 2019 Analogue Solutions

Additional details are in.

"What is it?

Impulse Command is here!

True STEREO analogue synth / sonic realizer. Perfect for melodic and percussion loops. Very easy (and fun!) to create modular style analogue loops. It’s a complete soundtrack all by itself!

It’s wrong to call it a synthesizer (in fact a new word needs to be invented) because then you get preconceived ideas about what it does. It’s a whole lot more than a synth. It’s also part drum synth, part pattern generator, part modular loop producer.

All its unique features plus the 2 independent LPFs give this machine the ability to produce stereo loops that sound like multiple synths playing at once.

Special features:

Analogue synth: analogue audio and modulation circuits

Stereo / dual filters

This synth can sound like multiple synths all at once

Stereo digital effects (reverb and delay)

16 step analogue sequencer

16 step MIDI Note sequencer

Dynamic internal patch system

ReOrder! feature to create new melodies from the sequencer

Dynamic VCO mix levels

Semi-modular

High-quality build

Impulse Command is a compact true analogue synth in a neat, smart, package. When we say ‘real analogue’ we mean that the entire audio path (aside from the post effects of course!) and all modulation are entirely analogue, using circuits based on awesome sounding vintage 1970s designs. Their circuits are not locked down by CPUs. Controls are not quantised and read by CPUs. With the exception of the essential digital elements (that is MIDI conversion, sequencer control and digital delay/reverb), Impulse Command really is analogue and the sound benefit is immediately apparent!"

The EG produces a CV that varies over a period of time. It’s start is triggered by a Gate or Trigger signal.

The main use for an EG is to vary the volume of a sound, (when used to control a VCA), to reproduce the way natural instruments sound. E.g. a piano sound starting loud when the key is struck, then gradually dieing away. It can also be used to change the timbre of a sound over time, by controlling the cut-off frequency of a VCF.

Stirring Up Some Filtered Coffee Self Resonation

video upload by dkimcg

"I made this video while testing out the filter's self oscillation and the CV ins and outs on the Analogue Solutions Filtered Coffee. This time I did things right, and the audio syncs up, unlike the 1st Filtered Coffee video. In case you're curious, it was a timecode issue, 30fps vs 29.97 (drop frame).

LFO1 on the Analogue Solutions Filtered Coffee is the master clock here. It triggers the Jomox MBase01 kick drum through the Moog CP-251 (a neat way of triggering the kick via CV control) The CP-251 splits and combines a few signals and send them out to the Moogerfoogers (FreqBox, RingMod, and MuRF), the sample and hold of the noise controlling the RingMod and FreqBox frequency inputs is the most recognizable sound the CP-251 controls. It's LFO is also controlled with the LFO from the Filtered Coffee. So...basically, the self modulation of the filter's resonance is the tone generator that gets everything rolling. Well, except for the MBase which kicks the TResonator's envelope which combines the kick and the Coffee's self oscillation. Then it goes through the FreqBox, into the RingMod, and out the MuRF to be compressed, space echoed, and recorded through compressors. Three tracks were generated/recorded and mixed with some additional compression and a little reverb, nothing else. The reverb adds some depth and stereo imaging, it sounds extra reverby since the Space Echo was doing it's thing with the spring reverb and delays. The levels get a bit hot, and the T-Resonator barely stays in control...what a beast, I love it. It gets a bit messy in there at time, but I think there are a couple cool parts, and you get to see more of what the Analogue Solutions Phobos Filtered Coffee can do to create sound as well as subtracting from sound. I really love the feedback you can create from the coffee, tres, and space echo...so many types of feedback. I love audio feedback...."

Envelope Generator with EMS-style repeats

Width 12HP

The EG produces a CV that varies over a period of time. It’s start is triggered by a Gate or Trigger signal.

The main use for an EG is to vary the volume of a sound, (when used to control a VCA), to reproduce the way natural instruments sound. E.g. a piano sound starting loud when the key is struck, then gradually dieing away. It can also be used to change the timbre of a sound over time, by controlling the cut-off frequency of a VCF.

The most common EGs are ADSR, AD and AR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release). The attack time adjusts the rate at which the envelope will rise to its peak value. This is initiated with a Gate signal. The Decay adjusts the rate the signal takes to fall to the Sustain level. The Sustain level adjusts the level that the EG signal will sustain from the end of the Decay time till the end of the Gate signal (i.e. when the key is release). The Release time adjusts the rate the signal takes to fall from its current level to zero, after the end of the Gate signal (when the key was released). If a short Trigger signal is used to initiate the EG, there will be no Decay or Sustain portion to the EG signal. The signal will rise to peak level (Attack), then immediately fall from peak to zero at the Release rate.
Special EMS-Style Repeat Function

The EG01 has an EMS-style repeat function which is easy to use and adds powerful modulation capabilities.

When the sustain level is set to zero the repeat function will be active. The envelope will repeat (re-trigger itself) so as soon as the envelope finishes its cycle, it starts all over gain. In this mode the EG becomes an LFO or Oscillator. The speed is set by the Attack and Decay time. (The Release control will have no effect). By setting very short times an audio signal will be present!

Whether the repeat is short giving high frequencies (audio signals) or slow (like an LFO), by varying the Attack or Decay times you are changing the wave shape of the output. Anything from Saw to Triangle to Reverse Saw wave forms can be created.

The unique way in which the EG01 repeat works is that it will only repeat as long as the Gate voltage is at the Trigger input (i.e. the key is held down/sustained). This is a great bonus compared to other repeating envelopes in that rather than repeating indefinitely, it will only repeat as long as you want it to (by controlling the length of the Gate signal). One application of this is by setting the repeat function to create an audio signal. The output will only produce audio when a Gate signal is present. This gives you a gated audio signal - effectively an Oscillator through a VCA.

Controls & Sockets:
EG has A, D, S, R and Level
(push pull switch to select - to +)

EG also has and EMS-style Repeat function (when sustain set to zero and key held down) - this is an easy to use and powerful feature.
EG has Trig In, + Out, - to + (variable) Out."
