Trovasi Connects: Circuit Tracks with Eurorack

"Our second video in our @Trovarsi Connects series, featuring Circuit Track with Eurorack.

The Bass and Lead synth voices are coming from the Circuit Tracks and the textured voice is coming from the Nanobox. The drums are a combination of percussive elements from the four drum channels on the Circuit Tracks and the 6Mod6 eurorack module.

Both the audio from the Nanobox and the 6Mod6 are routed through the two audio inputs on Circuit Tracks, and are being sequenced by Tracks using the two separate MIDI tracks."

Keys brings an end to this search allowing you create realistic sounding acoustic music such as rnb and soul and a lot more. no more trying to work out a way to get a piano in your sample pool.

Using old synthesis techniques such as La Synthnesis, Freqency modulation, and slight wavetable manipulation, it is possible to create the slight nuances that make things resonate in an authentic way and play naturally on a keyboard or circuit Keys does this in order to bring you traditional sounding acoustic instruments.

Featuring a huge amount of authentic sounding instruments in the patches and crackle samples, aswell as chord samples. This pack makes it very easy to create your own version of an nostalgic track in any genre and add that flavour to sound.

With over 16 sessions boasting 9 different genres, Keys leaves no stone unturned transforming the circuit tracks in to something beyond what it was intented for. you will find many new techniques in the sessions such as shifting steps, swing, a new scale probability trick if you can find it!?!?

Novation Circuit Components Updated to V1.3

The Novation Circuit continues to get better and better. The latest via Novation:

"Circuit v1.3 Brings exciting new Sample Flip functionality and greater software flexibility.

The free v1.3 firmware update for Novation’s Circuit groovebox makes it more streamlined and powerful than ever. The update, which is recommended for all users, delivers several feature requests from Circuit’s dedicated owners’ group, plus a number of usability tweaks that make Circuit one of the most capable music-making platforms on the market.

Sample Flip
The brand new Sample Flip function lets you create multi-sample drum lines on each of Circuit’s drum tracks. In previous versions of Circuit firmware, only one sound could be used on each drum track. Now, you can select a different sample for each step in all four of the drum tracks. So for example, you can have a kick and a snare on ‘Drum 1’, freeing up other tracks for additional instrumentation or sample playback. This totally transforms Circuit’s drum- and sample-programming functionality and opens it up to new styles of music.

Sample Preview
This commonly requested feature lets you play and preview your samples without programming them into a pattern. In the studio, this speeds up the drum-programming process immensely due to the speed at which you can audition sounds. On stage, you can live-play any sample along to your existing drum patterns, using Circuit’s velocity-sensitive pads. Let the finger-drumming commence.

Session Colours & Single Session Backup
Using the Circuit Librarian — part of the Components suite of browser-based tools (see below) — you can now change the colour of the LED that represents your Session on the Circuit hardware. This means you can use colours to differentiate styles — pink for house, orange for Techno, for example — or to discern between different sections of your songs: green for intros, purple for main sections, say. Also new with Circuit v1.3 is the facility to manage sessions individually, rather than in a batch of 32.

Sound Management
Updates have been made to the Sample Import tool in Circuit Components (more information below). You can now change the placement of your samples so you can, for example, group similar sounds together to make it easier to remember which sample is on which pad. (For example, you could have kick drums on row 1; snares on row 2; vocal snippets on row 3.)

Bug Fixes
A bug relating to the timing of Session switching (leading to the very occasional missed playback of sounds on step one of the proceeding Session) has been fixed. Long samples, which were automatically faded out in prior versions of the Firmware, can now be played in their entirety, providing there is sufficient sample space on the Circuit.

Components is a suite of tools, launched in April 2016, that are accessed through a web portal at https://components.novationmusic.com. Here, you can import samples, organise your backups, and find links to download the latest firmware. Circuit Components uses browser-based Web-MIDI and is compatible with Google Chrome and Opera browsers.

"Every time I go to start up a new jam, I can't help but grab the Novation Circuit Tracks. This time, I'm pairing it with the Akai Timbre Wolf. I think it compliments the digital sounding Circuit Tracks perfectly! Midi track 2 from the Tracks is sequencing the Timbre Wolf. I could have just synced up the Sequencer from the Timbre Wolf, but having all those instruments in one spot makes jamming so much more fluid. I recorded the Circuit Tracks and the Timbre Wolf separately using the Zoom L-12 Livetrack and imported those into Logic for mixing and processing with Compressors and EQ. I'm using a different style of compressing than normal, so tell me what you think."

"With this setup, I have the Drums and Bass Synth of the Akai Rhythm Wolf going into the Korg TP-2 Tube Preamp & Compressor. The Drum output of the TP-2 is routed into the Zoom L-12 Livetrack for recording,. But the Synth Bass output gets processed by the Moog Moogerfooger MuRF, using the static sequence mode. Then to the L-12 Livetrack for recording. All of this is then uploaded into Logic for mixing."

"Drum and Bass is a genre thats here to stay, There has been a massive progression and shift over the years in the styles. From the early days of jungle and then stepping up to producers like Calyx Teebee, and Goldie, through to our modern day. Despite this, two things have remained.

The drive created by the bass, and the energy conjoured by the hard hitting drums, the combination of those two in tandem is what will always define dnb as one of the people's favourite genre.

This pack fits in that era between early Drum & Bass and modern, where there is still plenty of sub bass and thick reeces, but with a modern punchy take on drums and fx

All drums have been synthesized using Xfer Serum and have specifically been made to be on the right key and frequency range, to get the job done without pitching.

The work flow is a little different from the Circuit Tracks and I am not as perfect as I would like to be with the timing but the grittiness of the Circuit still shines through. Yves Big City Mastering has created this pack with huge sounds and patches that stand out from the rest. This is the beginning of a series of Tracks using this pack and the Novation Circuit and the Novation Circuit Tracks to bring you along for an unforgettable ride. I can't say enough about the pack and the samples! They are great and everyone should have this pack in there components software.
