"The Korg Prologue is a very good sounding Synth, there are some things lacking however and the 12db Filter might not be to everyone's taste, but for me, I love the wiry textures.

So, I get asked the same sort of question over and over, which is "This Synth vs That Synth vs That one". Now I decided to a Sound designers Review of 10 Synths that I have made Banks of Patches for and come up with 5 areas to go over and to to give them a score out of 20, for a final total.

Korg Prologue gets - 63/100

Sequential Prophet REV 2 gets - 80/100"

Patches 51 to 75.

It's been almost 3 years since I brought out Evolution Vol 2 for the Sequential OB6 Synthesizer and wasn't sure I'd do another, however Sequential have updated the OB6 with the "Vintage Knob" feature, from the Prophet 5 Rev 4 Synth. After playing around with it, I decided to do another Bank and while it is subtle with some sounds, with others, it can really make a difference.

In this set I've also focused a little more on making Patches using Osc 2 as a Modulation Source and delving deeper. While there is the odd "Vintage" patch, it's more about getting new Synthesizer sounds."

"So, I recently picked up a used Prophet 08, which I used to have some years ago, but it was a decent deal, so thought i'd get one again.

Didn't have any intention for Patch making as I have a Prophet REV 2, however...well...it's me, I'm in the process of making a Bank so thought it would be good to cover this on the Stream...Pretty much the Synth to kick off the whole Analog revival."

"No particular point with this video, just wanted to record the sound, before moving bits around in my Studio. One of the patches I made for the REV 2 "Growing Pains" is an unusual sound, mainly due to the negative envelope amount and attack portion.

Just adding a bit of BigSky and Timeline, turns it into a Drone like patch...So, just one chord and few tweaks."
