Create Wavetables From Anything For Anything ... For free

video upload by Starsky Carr

Here I put the Prophet VS waves into the UDO Super 6, Waldorf M, Arturia Microfreak and Pigments using just a DAW and Audacity. It's a super flexible method and following this you should be able to sample any wave from anything you have to create a wavetable - the tricky bit was getting the cycle length sample accurate. Some require

Low Frequency Expander // Increase your synths modulation capabilities

video upload by Starsky Carr

"This can give you 3 complex LFOs, additional envelope, sequencer and arpeggiator plus loads of extra functionality. Well worth a look if you've got a Sequential Prophet or OB-6... or any synth with limited modulation. It can work with anything that accepts MIDI CC.

Arturia Minifreak // The Evolution of DIGITAL/ANALOG Hybrid Synths

video upload by Starsky Carr

"How does the Arturia Minifreak sound compared to one of the best hybrid digital/analog synths ever created? Not really a comparison but a look at how the Minifreak stands up against vintage class. and the Prophet VS is pure vintage class!

They're 2 Different synths so I'm not doing a strict like for like comparison - that wouldn't make sense - but I'm exploring if there's a start difference between modern and vintage units. Do vintage units have a certain je ne sais quoi do they have a life, depth and fizz we just don't seem to be able to recreate in new instruments?"

How to make Synthwave Sounds // Spoiler - It's SUPER EASY!!

video upload by Starsky Carr

"A tutorial and demo on how to recreate the tones of F.M84, Miami Nights 1984, Timecop 1983, Waveshaper, Wayflow, Starcadian, Lazerhawk etc Make your own synthwave patches. How to make synthwave bass, pads, and lead sounds using a Prophet 5 in this, but most soft synths can do the same, even stock plugins that come with your DAW, The basic principles are the same... they're simple sounds from synths that had limited abilities in the 1980s."

Dave Smith: OB6 vs Pro6

Published on Jul 20, 2018 Starsky Carr

"A quick tour of DSI's OB6 and Prophet .

I've tried to give a feel for how they sound individually rather than recreate sound on both as they've got such different characters. They're so similar in their architecture, but so different sonically, I hope I've captured it in 30 mins.

This might give an idea of which is best for your studio, which might cut through in your mixes or fit with your current rig.

I don't consider one is 'better' than the other, they simply have different characters.

Hopefully someone will find it useful ;)_

enjoy....
