A demo of a effect sound i made, Under the Name The Abyss, its a strange sound. And only the EX5 can achieve this type of sounds, I used no external FX for this and there is almost no layered tracks, mostly one continous recorded track. I used the AWM/FDSP engine for this, Cheers!

Yamaha Expands Soundmondo Sound-Sharing Website to Include MONTAGE Content

BUENA PARK, Calif. (May 3, 2018) – Yamaha is expanding Soundmondo, the groundbreaking social sound-sharing website originally conceived for sharing reface Mobile Mini Keyboard sounds. Soundmondo now supports the MONTAGE Music Synthesizer, broadening its technological and user base to include an immense source of content.

Since launching in 2015, Soundmondo users created over 20,000 free reface sounds online. Now, MONTAGE users have the ability to explore and share new content of their own on a daily basis. To launch this new branch of the network, Yamaha produced 400 MONTAGE Performances, including content from the original DX ROM Cartridges, special content from Yamaha Music Europe and 16 original Performances from legendary synthesizer sound designer Richard Devine. Along with the content, Soundmondo is free for all MONTAGE users.

Soundmondo makes it possible to organize Performances into set lists, add demo audio/video and discover new pieces made by the global music-making community. All content is accessible via Google Chrome or the newly-launched Soundmondo (formerly “reface Soundmondo”) iOS app.

The MONTAGE Music Synthesizer, introduced in 2016 and enhanced with four major OS updates since then, represents a new era in synthesizer technology, offering unprecedented levels of control in sound and workflow.
“Soundmondo is to sound what photo-sharing networks are to images,” says Nate Tschetter, marketing manager, Synthesizers, Yamaha Corporation of America. “It’s a great way to share your sound experiences and get inspiration from others.”

"The Yamaha MO6/MO8 is a music production synthesizer that comes in two sizes. The MO6 is the 61-key while the MO8 is the 88 weighted key version. The two versions use Yamaha's AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory 2) tone generator also used in the Motif and the Motif ES series of synths and comes with 175MB of waveform memory, 64 voices of polyphony (124 Max in sequencer), 512 preset programs with 256 User voice and 129 GM voice, over 1700 arpeggio programs, and over 18 different filter types navigated through the 240x64 LCD display.

The MO-series keyboards have been discontinued by Yamaha, and were replaced by the MoX series. Currently, the MoX series has also been superseded by the MoXF-series, whose sound engine is derived from the company's fifth-generation Motif XF series. The units are designed to be integrated with a PC running Steinberg's Cubase, since that company is partly owned by Yamaha.

The Yamaha MO6/MO8's sounds are based on the Yamaha Motif ES sound set and includes pianos, electric pianos, organs, guitars, strings, pads, percussion and special effects.

"So there were a few influences at work here. I really like how the Peak manages such a huge sound. Basses that cut. Pads that.... cut. It's all so fun. Also featured here is a drum kit from the Yamaha Montage. It never ceases to provide awesome, useful sounds. This reminds me of stuff we used to go dancing to in 1989. Oh, and don't smoke the reefer. It will turn you into a maniac."

"In this video the Peak is doing all the synth and the Montage is doing all the drums. There are really only three patches. One Peak pad, one Peak bass, and one Montage drum kit. My Montage was probably about 3x the cost of the Peak."

SUPERBOOTH 2024: Yamaha - Montage M Synthesizer

"At Superbooth 2024, the team at Sonic State caught up with Dom from Yamaha to get an exclusive look at the latest updates for the Montage M workstation synthesizer. Dom showcased the new operating system update, OS2, which includes some exciting features like SmartMorph for the ANX engine. This feature allows users to seamlessly morph between multiple sounds, creating unique and dynamic textures. The *SmartMorph *functionality was previously available for FMX and now extends to ANX as well, adding even more versatility to the already powerful Montage M.

Another highlight of the OS2 update is the addition of new reverb algorithms, including a shimmer reverb that adds a dreamy layer to any sound. Dom demonstrated how the shimmer reverb can be used to enhance sounds like piano and synths, providing a lush and atmospheric quality. Additionally, the update introduces a new modifier for the ANX engine, the wave folder, which allows for creative sound design possibilities like creating kick drums and morphing waveforms. The Montage M also gets an Expanded Soft Synth Plugin (*ESP*) for Montage M, which allows users to access and edit Montage sounds directly within their DAW. The OS2 update and ESP plugin will be available as a free download for registered Montage M users at the end of June."
