Memorymoog Modifications (By Synthpro)

Published on Jul 12, 2019 synthpro

"Hey Guys,

This is a Memorymoog I modified a bit. This was not as much a restoration but a repair and modify.

I added the Kenton MIDI kit as well as individual outs for the voices so they can be panned and mixed independently.

Thanks for watching and appreciate the support!

Nathan's Moog/Realistic MG-1 modifications (by Synthpro)

Published on Dec 11, 2018 synthpro

"Hi Guys,

This is a little MG-1 I have modified for Nathan. I added quite a few things to this synth to make it much more flexible than before.

Here are the things I added:

secondary LFO generating triangular and square waveforms.

Polyphonic section modulation amount control

LFO mixer control so the unit can be panned between the new LFO or original LFO, (responds to the filter and poly section only)

Added input busses for external modulation injection independently into the filter/poly section as well as the pitch of the mono synth oscillators.

LFO out which tied into the LFO mix control, this allows you to send the LFOs to other synths.

independent poly section output for routing the poly through effects or a stand alone mix.

Gain staging changes with selected resistor values to give you plenty of gain and presence in the sound.

Thanks for watching!

Two Memorymoogs (by Synthpro)

Published on Nov 1, 2018 synthpro

"Hey Guys,

I decided to do something a little different tonight. I just rebuilt this Memorymoog Plus, (the unit closest to me in the video) for my friend Mitch and couldn't resist playing two memorymoogs together.

Its a very rough take but just having some fun.

My personal memorymoog has some of my own programming and am running it through a Pigtronix Echolution pedal.

Thanks for watching and all the support!

sincerely,
Jareth"

Cannibal Memorymoog (by Synthpro)

Published on Oct 23, 2018 synthpro

"The Story of the Cannibal Memorymoog:

I usually try to keep my parts units locked up tight for that one night of year that crazy things seem to happen but one year I forgot and the nightmares still haunt me to this day of what I witnessed!

The day after Halloween, I came into my shop just as any other day but today something was different. I noticed this trail of synthesizer guts leading from the door of my shop into my surgical room where I had a minimoog in the process of getting a part transfusion. As I entered the surgical room, I found the minimoog on the floor busted up pretty bad as if something had been eating on it. I continued following the trail of synth guts and they stopped at the cabinet where I keep donor synthesizers. I open the cabinet and the donor memorymoog I had is missing. I stood there for a few minutes trying to figure out what happened when all of a sudden, I heard a noise from the front of my shop....I cautiously made my way to where the noise came from and nothing could have prepared me for what I saw; it was my donor memormyoog and it had became a zombie, it was eating minimoog boards and trying to trap a moog source to eat afterwards!

I did the only thing I knew to do; I picked up the zombie memorymoog, threw it on my surgical table, and started disassembling it as quickly as I could. As I removed the parts, I put them in the donor cabinet making sure to lock it after each part was stored.

Still to this day, I sometimes hear moving in the cabinet around Oct but I dare not open to see what it is making the noise.

Happy Halloween Friends!

Sincerely,
Jareth"

Special Minimoog Restore (by Synthpro)

Published on Jun 25, 2018 synthpro

"Hey Guys,

This was a very sick minimoog that came to me for a restore and was on the verge of being too far gone to save. Because this unit was in such poor shape and I had the, "ok" from the owner, I decided to accept the challenge of the restore and add some customization to make it a one of a kind minimoog.

The music you hear during the slide show was performed on this actual minimoog, its just a rough track I put together for this video, I call it, "From Grave to Glory".

Special thanks to the following people:

Gary, for giving me this opportunity to restore your minimoog, was a fun and challenging project.

Johnny, from Accel Graphics for his help making the new labeling for the back panel jacks.

Also a special thanks to my Dad for always giving me his support and for his help sanding the cabinet, this was a huge help.

Thanks for watching and all the support from the viewers as well, would not be able to even have a business like this without all the support from the viewers and clients."

Things That I Hate To See In Synthesizers (by Synthpro)

Published on May 1, 2018 synthpro

"Hey Guys,

this is a video I made to show some of the things I get in from other techs that make me a bit upset, this is not to call out any names but just to hopefully give some of you an example of what not to do in your clients gear.

(one Note: I said Axel caps when looking at the supply, meant to say Radial caps.)

Thanks for watching and I do hope this helps some of you out there."
