Hand made Mini Synthesizer Chaotic sound Generator

via this auction
"The Chaos Engine is a 5 oscillator mini synth. Despite it's lo-fi discrete transistor design and very simple panel layout, it can produce a huge variety of sound textures. These range from simple bleepy melodies reminiscent of The Silver Apples, to fractal noise and spluttering sonic convulsions similar to the sound of fax machines or old computer tapes. Because of it's fractal-like qualities, the slightest microscopic knob turn can totally change the sound.

The Chaos Engine has 3 basic modes of operation:

1 No sync.

The oscillators do not influence each other. In this mode it is like a primitive keyboard, only with the added creative possibilities of being able to tune the notes individually.

2 Harmonic sync.

The oscillators are all synchronized to oscillator 1. As you turn the tuning knobs the pitch will not glide as normal; instead you will hear a series of harmonics, sometimes very musical and strange undertone scales.

3 Chaotic sync.

The oscillators all try to sync to each other. This is controlled by the chaos depth knob and produces the widest variety of sounds.

Size: 28cm x 17cm

Power: 9v battery or standard 2.1mm power supply socket.

The copper panel will tarnish and go brown over time."

Vintage Moog Sonic-Six

via this auction

"Moog Sonic-Six 2 Voice Duophonic Synthesizer...

It is in Excellent Condition considering that it's nearly 40 years old. There are a few minor issues with it that are listed below, but it is fully functional, and everything works as it should. These were designed to be simple, straight-forward, and easy to use. They were also one of the first Duophonic synths, which were rare in the early 70's. The great Bob Moog himself used a Sonic-Six during his early instructional tours. I certainly learned alot about basic Analog synthesis with this machine. Besides its basic functions, it has other features that make it truly unique. It has twin, sweepable LFO's with 4 different waveforms with many different control options, and the Filtering is amazing. The Noise Generator is old fashioned Analog, and is a blast to use with the twin LFO's. This thing is true analog in all its glory and will most definitely scare the crap out of your neighbors!"

The members of the Berlin DigiEnsemble are professional musicians, with iPhone, iPod Touch and make iPad at the University of the Arts music together. Goal is to test it in the music together, whether and how making music can be with the small devices.

This music created from a variety of styles between "classic" string orchestra up to the danceable R & B Act. We found that do not fit terms such as orchestra or band for the musical spectrum and describe our formation, therefore, as an ensemble. Most importantly us that the music interesting in his pockets instruments and sounds musical."
